Default 100-Year-Old Fruitcake Found 'Perfectly Preserved' in Antarctica...

An Antarctic historical preservation team working on the site of Scott's base camp for his ill-fated attempt to be the first to reach the South Pole has discovered a tin containing a 100-plus year old "perfectly preserved" fruitcake among remains of Scott's expedition:

I must say, even though fruitcakes are the bane of US Christmas celebrations and traditions, considered to be nearly indestructible (and inedible), and are re-gifted in a manner akin to Sicilian vendettas, you Brits out there really take the cake when it comes to fruitcake durability...

There'll always be an England and, apparently, there will always be English fruitcake...
