Default So i nearly crashed into a u_boat

So , i went for a breakfast run on my bike today and was going past the Harbour on an overpass, casually stealing glances out over the harbour(Cape Town), when i saw something i have only captained in a 3d computer world

By Thor7223 at 2009-10-17

Throttled down and parked, rubbing unbelieving eyes. Gotta see this. She was lying in the container area of the Harbour(where they are quite strict with customs and wouldn't let me in. Further along they were busy repairing the fence, and i managed to get them to let me in.

So i got closer

She was still surrounded by a huge fence , but i was determined to have a pic with me in the coning tower(yeah a bit weird , me in full leathers, but i reckoned it would be a laugh, so i stood on the bike seat and attempted to scale the fence
(up until this point i gave no thought as to how i would take a self pic with my cellphone, let alone getting back over the fence)

I was shortly stopped by a roving customs car, and told i would have to make do with the view from where i was, and to bugger off sooner rather than later.

So these are unfortunately all i got, and the quality is terrible.
After seeing the emblem i realized i had heard they were making the movie about this(a mate of mine went up for a part)

So , come on , who's first in guessing the boat?

Yeah, as near as i can tell, they are shooting the laconia incident. I think (rumor mill only) it's a BBC thing.

Very cool, Thunder.

I thought it might be a bit more of your CG artwork.

I had to climb through a window the other day to get to a patient... and I have to say I was not at all ninja-like.

Congrats on obtaining a pic on the conning tower there! However, next time I suggest removing the camera from your ninja-suit first.
