Fresh GWX Install - need mod suggestions
Hi everyone!
It's been a while hasn't it So I lost all my SH3 mods when my PC got wiped last year, and I've been wanting to get back into SH3. I have GWX and SH3 Commander, but I was wondering what everyone is using nowadays to improve their gameplay experience. It's been so long I've forgotten what I had before Thanks in advance Kaleuns! Sledge

Oh no. If you want my mod list you're in for a burden. I run dozens and dozens of mods, and I consider them all to be absolutely must-have necessary. And I keep adding more, and dumping others. When I'm setting up my game I load and test incessantly. Five years ago I created a thread about my latest (for then) setup and the months it took to get it right. When I finally get to start playing again it will likely be considerable changes because I can't leave well-enough alone and there are some new ones out that I just have to try. It can be a lot of pain and a lot of work if you really want a wiz-bang setup.
Here's a link to that thread http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=217586 And if you really are feeling masochistic I'll post my latest list.

I think being a SUBSIM player on any level of difficulty is a masochistic venture in and of itself, I'd be interested in seeing your latest and greatest Steve!

Read about the 6 dials mod in your thread link Steve, and took a look at it. I think I'll stick to the "del" key to get a clear screen, ha !

I wouldn't live without those three dials spreading across a quarter of the screen. To each his own.

Hi Sledgehammer, I like you have recently returned to SH3 and my archived install was giving CTD's when trying to load a save after sinking any enemy ship, would load fine before that, even in ports or next to other ships but long story short I just spent the better half of 2 days trying to sort it, and in the end I had to wipe everything and start from scratch. People aren't talking poppycock when they say it's the best strategy for a borked install, lol. Anyway, I now have a super stable game that looks great with realism in mind, and I've even managed to keep it reasonably close to my original install that was a little dated with newer versions of mods like MEP and the .exe patches. Some things of note you may not recognize; the 'Sound' folder is my own personal make up of sound files collected from multiple mods of which I mainly forget but it's mainly centred around Thomsen's sound mod and some of Venatore's work. The ThomsenSea mod is basically Thomsen's Parameters mod, highly recommended and Foam is a longer Uboat wake which I can't remember where I got that from, otherwise, they should all be easy to find here in the downloads section or the forum. Good luck with your 'soup', remember to test, test, test, it's worth it in the end.
