I didn't see this on Platapus's list but if you plot a long course and put cursor on end of it and press ctrl and left click mouse you will go back to sub. It beats alot of scrolling and draging.

Since I've been away from the whole submarine business for a while I noticed that a large amount of new mods has been introduced. I'm running the "old" Real Uboat 1.45 and was wondering if some of these new mods are better or otherwise worth checking out? For example GWX and NYGM seemed rather interesting. So I would appreciate if someone could briefly explain what these mods (or others) are all about and which ones you recommend. I checked the descriptions in the downloads section but didn' really find them very informative...
Pleased to hear your sorted....as for mods, my obvious preference is GWX.

A quick search around these boards will probably be sufficient testimony to it's popularity.

You can alsp click on my sig and that will take you to the GWX website
Wow, GWX seems almost like a new game. :p Must install it asap. Can it be considered as a do-it-all mod or should I include some other mods too? I'm talking about harbour traffic and various colours on merchants and such things... Or are they all included in the GWX mod?

Harbour traffic is already scripted in and there are loads of different boat skins (merchant and military)

Very interesting buttons to use. I still wonder why they didn't put some of them in the instruction booklet like they are supposed to.

Something that may have been mentioned but that I only noticed recently,

If you're reloading eels and there is a full green bar above the compartment it will take 11 minutes at "realistic reload times"However, if you put an officer, even an unqualified one, in there it will take only 7 minutes...

worth knowing I'm thinking :hmm:

I'm surprised that this little nugget seems missing from this thread. If you right-click on a fallen comrade, you can bury him at sea. Works only when surfaced.

In the VIIC (not sure about the other boats), simply rotate your view towards the rear of the boat, go to the bino view, and wait until the flagstaff is straight in the bino's and then F4 (or simply use the mouse wheel or [TAB] )to back out of bino's.

Nothing like trying to look for ships with your head tilted 45 degs to one side.

Set max TC with one single hit?

Goto (C:\programs)\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg\Com mands_en.cfg and open with Notepad/Editor.

Scroll to [Cmd5] and add

Key1=0x6A,R,"Npad *"

It shall look like this:

[Cmd5]
Name=Time_compr_increase
Ctxt=1,2,6,9
MnID=0x3F010001
Key0=0x6B,,"Npad +"
Key1=0x6A,R,"Npad *"

Save your changes!

This enables Npad * key to max TC with a single hit!
Nice to race the Kiel Channel.

Radio message TC can be adjusted in SH3Commander Options.

Here's the Increase time compression I use

[Cmd5]
Name=Time_compr_increase
Ctxt=1,2,6,9
MnID=0x3F010001
Key0=0x6B,,"Npad +"
Key1=0x6A,,"NumPad *"
Key2=0x6A,,"NumPad *"
Key3=0x6A,,"NumPad *"
Key4=0x6A,,"NumPad *"
Key5=0x6F,R,"NumPad /"

"NumPad +" increases by 1 binary step
"Numpad *" increases by 4 binary steps i.e. 1tc to 16tc
"Numpad /" increases to max

Here's a list of Keycodes some not in Setkeys i.e. mouse codes.

I`ve a question: Is there a hint to disable the-automatic-going-to-periscope-depth, when a warship, a plane or a merchant is spotted?

I just found a way to activate this mode - but no way to disable it.

As I am in the indian ocean i want now try to engage single planes with my AAA-guns which I avoided in the atlantic...

Thanx a lot 4 your help!

Christian
