Default Crew Cheers

It's just not as fun when the crew doesn't cheer a hit like in SH III. Or when the target goes down. I was wondering if anyone has been successful in bringing these sounds back?

Stormy's DBSM sound mod has it. What the specific file is, I don't know, but it's there when your torpedo hits the target.

Yes, I got it now. It's a good MOD but all that it does is say "torpedo hit". Still no cheering

But there is cheering.

When your torp hits, the crew cheers, then the officer yells something like "Splice it!" (I have no clue what the actual German spelling is) to shut them up, then they go quiet.

If it isn't part of Stormy's mod, I wonder if it's part of the German language pack or some other one? I wish I knew which file it was so I can show you, but I just don't want to go searching through them all to find it. If I do "stumble" on it, I'll report back.

Some nice Das Boot dialogue in it, not always in sync with your boat is doing at the time.

There is also 5 .wav files for ship sunk-sinking that never get played anymore. Does changing the Sh.sdl file alter this behavior?

Good question and one which I don't have the answer for.

Maybe Stormy or someone else with a good knowledge of this could shed light on all these things.

Btw, I found that sound file for the torpedo hit. It is called MC_CR_SO_60 and is located in the ExecutiveOfficer Normal and Tension folders. In the Whisper folder, it's a shortened version without the cheers, which makes sense.


I'm just curious: is PATCHER_TDW in your mod list a mod you created for the patched files that you patched already or for the patcher itself? Former good. Latter bad.

You have a lot of out of date mods!

IRAI_0_0_39_ByTheDarkWraith there is a patch that goes with this that you are not using.

IRAI_0_0_39_Patch_ByTheDarkWraith

Up to date mods

DynEnv v2.9 - 1. Main Mod

Contains 28 mods. Base mod is folder 1

Yes that's what I hear. Will have to look around for some cheering and replace it.
Yes, former. It's just the patched files that I install and uninstall with JSGME.
