Testing some shadow editing

I don't use external cam, but realized i could pan out while on deck gun lol

The judder is the mouse scroll/click to zoom in/out





The game is smooth as silk though you wouldn't know it from the vids

Think i'll stick to pics now as fraps takes loadsa gigs up hehe

Default Taskforce intercepted

The taskforce has taken a sudden turn North East, which ironically placed it in a direct intercept course with it's impeding doom.... well.... hopefully 12-14 ships if everything goes to plan.

I tried to catch all of them in a screenshot, but that appears to be harder than one would think...




Will have to leave the engagement until after work. My plan is to use the same tactics that I've been using to bring down convoys of this size; get in right in the middle of all of them after waiting out the escorts at depth, then use one torpedo per ship aiming for the engine and the prop disabling it (if it doesn't sink in one hit). Reload and repeat, while hiding under one of the merchants from the escorts, using the above ship's engine to mask my own, and as a 'shield' that stops the destroyers getting above me.

Once I'm out of torpedoes, and have ships disabled in the water, it is merely a matter of time as I either dive and sneak out of visual range, where I can surface, recharge my batteries, reload the two torpedoes from the deck, and wait until nightfall when I can get in cannon range to pick off the crippled ships. The two torpedoes now reloaded from the deck are saved for whichever escorts have decided to stick around for protection.

Bit of rig info, still running x58 mobo so slightly less fps than on latest boards but still amazing from xfired 4890's

i7 920 DO @ 4.2 watercooled loop with gpu
r9 290x ek block watercooled loop with cpu (oc'ed 1250/1500 no need for added voltage, modified stock bios (i love editing gpu bios's and flashing gpu's )
12gb ram @ 1600 9,9,9,27,36,2 @1.68v (notch over stock)

So to fps, From memory

Bunker intial game load 40's to high 50's (this so low shocked me but shadows/rays etc zap fps)
Leaving bunker on tower from mid 20's to 40's

When i restart career i'mm make note of each harbour (still playing with mods so new career soon enough)

At sea away from land, well, it will take anything thrown at her, the fx update zoomed in is just amazing to see so smoothly now, don't even know fps as i don't bother now running so smooth in fz lol

If you want to oc that gpu it's easy enough, and if you're into bios flashing i can help you on your way (if you got asus you're most of way there, as their bios well some for sure come with voltage control )

So when new career starts, i'll write down all fps for ref
