WOW 5-1 Well this was more than I had expected. I had expected a win for the TOON's but 5 goal where 3 was scored by newcomer(if I got it right)

It was a home game and this mean a lot.

Next match is away against MCI.

cool "Me Too" football?

... one wonders if there'll be a "Howay the Gals" banner when the British Lionesses take the 2023 World Cup? the more so as there are any number of Yorkshire and NE English ladies consistently on the World Cup teams .

TOON are away to the current champions Man City tonight. A test to see just how far we have progressed.

Eight - Nil(8-0) to Newcastle away at Sheffield United.

A great game to watch-I agree on what the commentator said-Someone will get sacked(fired)

Saw a stream of spectators leaving the stadium after 5-0.

What's also interesting was-There was 8 different goal scorers.(If I remember correctly)

^Sheff United are still a championship team so I wouldn't read too much into that score Markus, me thinks they'll be seeing a lot more results like that one in the months ahead.
They're in a catch 22 situation, if they play open football and attack they're gonna get slaughtered by the top teams and if they play defensive football for the rest of the season they're not gonna get enough points to stay in the premier league.
They've some tough choices to make and sacking the manager isn't one of them, there's nothing he can do that will save this team, its the lack of quality players that will be their downfall nothing else.

Quote:
The former Manchester City striker and chairman Francis Lee has died at the age of 79 after a long battle with cancer, the Premier League club have announced.

Lee became a legend at Maine Road, where spent eight years as a player, joining City from hometown club Bolton Wanderers in 1967 for a club record £60,000. During his time at City, he won the First Division, FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup, scoring 148 goals in 330 appearances for the club, before ending his career at Derby County where he won another league title.

Lee was a barrel-chested striker known for his ruthless shot and precision from the penalty spot, once scoring 15 spot-kicks in a single season. A Lee penalty sealed City’s 1970 European Cup Winners’ Cup triumph over the Polish side Gornik Zabrze.

In addition to club honours, Lee won 27 caps for England, all while a City player, scoring 10 goals in the process and represent his country at the Mexico World Cup in 1970.

Liverpool v Spurs VAR: PGMOL releases audio of Luis Diaz's controversial disallowed goal

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66998252

VAR!, bloody hell, they've made this system so complicated that wrong decisions like this one are being made, there's no need for all this bollocks, was he onside or off, if onside, it's a goal, if offside it's a free kick, keep it simple you plonkers.

Why is this VAR rubbish making decisions on the offside rule and practically everything else as well?, I thought it was brought in to check that a ball had crossed the goal line?, scrap the whole bleeding lot of it and let the referee and the linesmen do their jobs. Of course there'll be screwups, it's part and parcel of the game in it, but it mostly worked over the last 100 years or so, and even when the officials screwed up it all blew over in less than a week anyway, just use VAR for the goal or not a goal, simples.
