Default fuel consumption

Is there some type of gizmo similar to a nomo graph that can be used
to estimate fuel consumption. Also where can i find a nomograph that can be used with sh4 maps.

Well, there's a nomograph in TMO and FOTRS (all versions). I don't think RFB has one. You might find a nomograph mod in the Subsim download area.

You can 'steal' the nomograph graphic from 'TMO' or another mod and find the location where it belongs in the 'TMO' menu_1024_768.ini file, then make the edit to your menu_1024_768.ini file.

It would be better to make a copy of your menu_1024_768.ini file, and make the edit to it, and create your own small mod to install last, on top of any other mod's you are using.

There is an unused command that you can activate in SH4 that will tell you how far you can sail until you run out of fuel at whatever speed you are moving. I hooked mine up to a new button I made on the HUD bar, or you can just use an unused key combination.

I don't know what mods you are using, if any.

Edit:
Here is a link to a topic describing the nomograph installation procedure:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=131983
(I have copies of both metric & imperial nomographs if you want them)

Here is mine. SH4 reads *.dds & *.tga files interchangeably (it is calling for a *.tga file but accepts the *.dds graphic)

TMO, in the map controls, has a range at current speed button.

You know, that menu_1024_768.ini file was a BAAAAAAAAAAD IDEA! It makes a single nomograph mod impossible.

Maybe so, but I don't know how to have a nomograph without editing the menu_1024_768.ini file...

I am a huge fan of your one mod does one thing without affecting other mods concept RR. Sometimes it can't be helped though.

The menu_1024_768.ini file needs to be edited to change the screwed up awards, make the smaller tools on the chart corner, add the nomograph, and other things. It is too bad but that's the way that SH4 was made.

For example, I like the OTC mod however after correcting the optics, it goes on to change the awards & decorations, and recognition manual to within a gnats @ss measurement of accuracy I've seen you write about. That's the way he wanted to make his mod and the benefits of the OTC part outweigh any unwanted thing in the long run... imo.

The nomograph could only be independent if one were to take the plans out back to the machine shop and make a real one.... wouldn't that be sweet.

Happy Hunting!
