Default Are The Allied Ships More Fragile...

....or do the German Torps just work better. I mean, the torps aren't any bigger (ie a Mark 14 had a torpex warhead of 660 lbs, the Typical German torp had one of 280 kg or 618 lbs).

But it seems like the German torp works better. On the Fleetboat side, it would take me 4 torps to sink a T-3 Tanker, on the German side I've done it with 2. Some of the smaller/medium size vessels I routinely dispatch with 1.

Also, if you are going to depend on a German torps magnetic pistol, should the one you focus on be the T-III and leave T-1's/II's to contact?

That is my experience. The T-I's and T-II's just pass under the ship if you attempt a keel shot where the T-III will detonate succesfully most of the time. If you read the text descriptions of the torpedoes, the one for T-III states that this one has the magnetic pistol. Maybe that implies that the others only have the contact?

On a sidenote: Has anyone experienced trouble with the FAT's? I fired 3 at a target and all just bounced off the hull despite a near perfect 90* angle. It made no difference if it was magnetic or contact.

Are you firing them from reall, really, close range?

I don't have much trouble with the T2s magnetic detonator, it works just fine (even though it does occasionally go dud)...

I fired 4 MK-IIs at a T3 last night and only one of them detonated. They were all set for influence. Today, I'll be loading them out as impact and see if any difference occurs.

I noticed that the ships seem to take only one or two instead of the usualy three or four as well, although around 25% of my hits have been duds. I'm usually useing the T-II or the T-III's though.
