Default no deck gun ammo

I just got my IXB in campaing and when I started new patrol I don't have any deck gun ammo. why I don't have any? it is important because I am using them a lot to save torpedos.

Manually go to the deck gun and click on the ammo picture lower right of screen. You should see the ammo load up with the slide bar and all ammo appearing.

magic.

but in general why do I have low ammo like 1x 110. earlyer in the war with VIIB I had like 2x 110. I know later that will be ok but it is still happy time and I need ammo

110 rounds was the usual outfit for a type IX. Compared with the 8.8cm gun used by the VII, the shells (including their case) were 20 pounds heavier, the actual gun mounting weighed 2 1/2 tons more, and the shells were four inches longer. I'd assume limited storage space in the hull, the greater destructive power of the gun, and the importance of keeping properly trimmed underwater, were all contributing factors.

true. in reality there were not that many chances to use all that ammo probably and later in the war using deck or flak would be just crazy unless you find alone targed.

on the last patrol I sunk half of the convoy. I used even flak gun shells to try destroy small ships.

I bacame very good with using deck guns that I was even confident to attack warships. Even in the fog or bad weather it is good for fast attack and dissapear even before warship is able to find me.

I took on a convoy where i damaged a few ships with torps, hid from escorts and then when i surfaced, ordered my crew on DG and they would not fire at all! So what you do is change them all out, and be sure to put a bootsman in the group (if you do not have a designated deckgunner)! Usually works for me.

If you're using GWX sometimes the deck gun won't fire the first shot. If you use the F10 key and fire it yourself they will be fine after that.
