Two Labour MPs who lost no-confidence votes among local party members have told constituents they will not quit.

Former minister Joan Ryan, MP for Enfield North, blamed the 94-92 vote defeat on "Trots, Stalinists, Communists and assorted hard-left".
Luton South MP Gavin Shuker said he was "sorry a handful of people" wanted to overturn his 2017 win.
Both are among MPs to have criticised Jeremy Corbyn and faced no confidence votes in their local parties.

This sums it all up...

In July, Momentum's national co-ordinator Laura Parker suggested Ms Hoey, Mr Stringer, Mr Field and John Mann - who also backs Brexit - should be deselected, saying there was "no room" for them in the party.

You sort him out Chuka....not that I reckon he or his supporters will listen.

Quote:
Labour MP Chuka Umunna has accused leader Jeremy Corbyn of driving centre-left MPs like himself out of the party.

The MP - a leading member of the cross-party People's Vote for a second EU referendum - urged Mr Corbyn to "call off the dogs".

In a speech, the MP said so-called moderates face a "clear and present danger" of being run out of the party by hardline factions.

The bad old days are well and truly back as the mad dogs have tasted a hint of power and they want more.

The Trades Union Congress has warned Theresa May it is poised to throw its "full weight" behind calls for a referendum on the final Brexit deal.
TUC leader Frances O'Grady said that unless the government struck "the deal that working people need" with the EU, she would demand a "popular vote".
"It's only right that people should get a say," she told the BBC.

More pressure for Mayday.

Quote:
Boris Johnson has attacked Theresa's May's Brexit plan, saying she had "wrapped a suicide vest" around the British constitution and "handed the detonator" to Brussels.
Writing in the Mail on Sunday, the former foreign secretary said the Chequers deal had opened the UK to "perpetual political blackmail".

Boris seems to be enjoying himself as he puts the boot in again.

I reckon quite a few are happy for Boris to be the front man, thereby taking any political flack but I doubt they are prepared to join him in his cavalry charge.

One minute its hugs and kisses and the next its war. They say only six months to go and normal service will return and Brexit will be a passed memory. I will say Brexit will go on and on for years to come.

The government's refusal to increase police pay by 3% in England and Wales is a "punch on the nose", Britain's most senior police officer has said.
Cressida Dick said she was "extremely disappointed" by the decision to give police a 2% rise, against the recommendation of an independent board.

Labour would extend workers' rights and "restore the balance of power in the workplace", shadow chancellor John McDonnell has said.

Really?

Quote:
A Labour government would ban zero hours contracts and introduce a "real living wage" of £10 an hour, as well as scrapping "anti-trade union" laws, he told the TUC.
Result many ZHW's will be signing on and don't give me that rubbish about £10 an hour the Greens and Libs have already said that.
