So, has it been determined if this will mess with my Windows 7 license? It will still be active if I do this magic upgrade, and will still work if I install 7 again after 10 blows itself up?

Sadly... Many of the applications I use don't run on Linux so, stuck with Windows.

Microsoft announced today that Windows 10 will be available on July 29. The date matches prior leaks and promises from the company regarding when the new operating system will touch down. The release schedule also puts Windows 10 into the market before the back-to-school PC sales cycle, and, of course, the holiday season.

The software company is, in other words, putting itself in as good a spot as it can be to get Windows 10 into the hands of as many PC buyers as possible. The company also announced a ‘reserve‘ program that allows people to sign up, in a sense, for Windows 10. The new code, of course, will be a free upgrade for most PC users.
Signed up for the free upgrade offer the other day and now realise W10 will be available on my birthday

I'm upgrading. I've been an Insider since the end of January. The stock game will load in 10, but I didn't do much more than that with it. Mods shouldn't affect it in that manner.

Microdaft crafted each new operating system off of the old one with a few extra bells and whistles thrown in so they didn't have to write new buzz words for their ad campaign and the psycho babble you read while it's installing.
Ten will likely be more of the same.

Well I've reserved my free download (and just in time) so I'm getting 10.

My understanding of the new system is that is built from the ground up. This information is however from retailers who have a vested interest in selling new machines and software. I guess only time will tell once people start running 10. If anyone has experience with it, please post.

Upgraded to 10 last night. Looks a bit like win 7 with elements of 8 added (from the little I've seen of 8)
Startup and logon is quite a bit slower than 7. Mind you, its a core2 duo with only 4 gigs of RAM.
I'm stuck with a now redundant install of MSE, which won't uninstall. Had to knock up a batch file to strip it from the registry and startup.

So far, not so bad.

hey guys, I'm actually having trouble with sh3, whenever game gets done installing, I get an error message that gives me an error code, the code is 1628. The last time I installed I was able to get onto the game, but whenever I hit "exit game", it crashes out, and sh3 commander wont work, does anyone have a fix for this?
