Could some one please tell me if this mod has added any improved crew skins as I am currently running through the academy exercises?

Also could some one please tell me now at what range the hydrophone will pick up convoys and single ships? presumeably the sailing ships make no noise but are the screw revolutions still accurate?

I have a few other questions of a more general nature that I feel should not clutter this thread such as reminding me how to alter the quick key configuration, etc.
Those questions I'll post to the general forum.

Anyway, well done again and regards
Any one know the answers to these? Thanks

Thanks GWX team, I'm on my 14th patrol now and a lot of my best experiences with SH3 have been thanks to your work

My only request is a little optional mod that restores the old renown system?

Also, this has probably been covered, but during one patrol I stalked a convoy and in the end attacked it five seperate times ... after the first, every boat in the convoy sunk down into the water and carried on, any deeper and they'd have sunk! And also I think something similar happened to my VIIB last night, whilst engaging a merchant my deck gun crew were continually submerged under water and couldn't fire, no matter how much I tried to keep the correct depth. I'm using SH3 Commander 2.7, and the wave height is standard

Thanks again

If I'm not mistaken GWX uses Fubar's crew skins

The hydrophone will pick up signals up to the region of 30-40Km I think.

@ Bigboywooly....here you go m8...This is where you can find the French DDS and minesweeper ( Elan class ) in SH2

the unit description files (UDF) can be opened/edited w worpad
they are in
C:\Program Files\Destroyer Command\Sim\Units
C:\Program Files\SSI\Silent Hunter II\Sim\Units

NMSElan.udf
NDDAigle.udf
NDDAdroit.udf

Hope that helps.....Thanks.....

Default SHII Models

I don't think SHII/DC models can be converted to SHIII (or into any other format for that matter - they can just be imported into the SHII format). And the poly count is really too low anyway, which is too bad as there are actually a number of units in SHII which would be useful in SHIII. If someone knows differently, please post and let us all know.

Default Dolphins

I was refueling at a milk cow and was visited by two dolphins. Nice touch, they were even talking to each other. Always something new in GWX.

Melinibonian

Thanks for the answers.

On a seperate matter, having taken a refresher exercise with torpedoes, even at 100% realism, it does seem a lot easier now to use manual proramming with the map updates; am I right in assuming this was considered to be more realistic?

That's what I'm using as well. How you fire your torpedoes it's up to you. The important thing is to have fun and enjoy the game

Go out there and sink them all

Default Please explain more about GWX.,segments

TO INSTALL: Download all six files into the same folder on your hard drive and run GWX.exe. MD5 sums have been provided so that you can verify the integrity of your downloaded files *before* installing. See "Optional (but recommended) files" below.
When you, or I,put the bins in the same folder, with the exe,& run the exe, then what? Or do they mean, put them all in SHIII,& run exe ?

No. I created a special download folder for GWX. After I put everything there, I ran the exe file. It will automatically put the installed files where they need to go.
