Is there any mod for depth charges ?
hello subsimers,
i have the sense (not sure though) that there was a mod for making the depth charges more detailed (3d model and textures). i did a quick search but no luck. is there any mod around for it ? does the great Testpilot ever made such a mod?

I have made such a mod, but mine is giving the escorts authentic numbers of depth charges and is integrating 11 different depth charges, but only the Mark 9 has an authentic look. I would like to create the new models for the different Depth Charge Types later when I have learned it because I have to learn everything in Modding from begin on.
First I would like to perfect the mod for the ships now implemented because I would like to create the perfect ASW-Mod. Then I convert it to other supermods. But you only have to change the .eqp-file if you want to use it in other supermods. |

Nice work on the mod padi.
I'll offer some advise to cut down the file size though. You are using many of the same 3D models imported many times. Check the LAA_AAMaunsell2.dat in GWX and see how one 3D model can be re-used without multiple 3D objects in the dat. |

@makman,
there is another model of the barrel-type DCs in the guns_uk.* library that comes with some of my ship models. The 3d model is by Alex, I re-textured it a bit. Also, I transplated it into DC_R_KG.* library for private use: If you like it, send PM. @padi, Jeff hint is great. I use his idea to reduce the file size of my ships since a while. If you do not have GWX at hand, just check for boats and optical instruments, such as air spotters, of Isaac Sweers. |

Nice 3D model Mate!!
And the idea for re-useing 3D models is in the original SH3 files. I just took it further. If you want the file and don't want the full GWX let me know. |

Remove all the repeated 3d models, leave only the 1st one; copy the ID of that model, go to "linked 3d model" of the repeated models and paste the ID into the "Model ID" box; repeat that for all instances of the model. Happy modding @makman: PM answered |
