Default Edit Torpedo Damage with S3D?

I've been looking for ways to increase torpedo damage ever since I hit a merchant ship on the starboard side of her aft and she kept going, as I have been reading that in theory, a torpedo hit on either the bow or the aft should sink her with only one fishy. Either way, I'm wanting to make certain that I'm not going to be wasting 2 or 3 fishes on one lone merchant ship.

The thing is, I've done a bit of exploring, and I haven't any idea how to do this. I've looked in the torpedo.sim for SH3 (which is what I was told to edit), but I can't find my torpedo type. The torpedo I'm intending to edit is the G7e type II, however all I see is a bunch of: amun_AcousticTorpedo, amun_Torpedo, amun_LuTorpedo. I know modifying the "impulse" is supposed to increase the damage, but I don't know which one is the right torpedo!

I was able to find the G7e type II in the torpedo.dat file, however there was no way to edit it there (that I saw).

Help appreciated!

Default

In S3D, open the Torpedo.dat and find the type your looking for, hi-lite and copy the ID.

Close the dat file and open the sim file in S3D, select edit then find.
paste the ID and click find next.
