Default Where are all the arctic missions?? Akula's?

Howdy. Just wondering if I'm the only one that's noticed a dire lack of arctic missions for DW! I even reinstalled SC with SCX just so I could play all those great northern missions in the Akula, none of the missions can be imported to DW and there doesn't seem to be any written yet for DW!

Also, there's a major shortage of Akula missions! At least from what I can see from Bill's site anyway. There's not many at all, 5 or 6 at the most. Are there any missions hiding out there, or do they still need to be created?

I'll see what I can do once my mission editor skills are better than they are now. Until then I hope we see some more arctic missions! At least with summer coming we'll be able to imagine we're on the top of the globe in our subs instead of melting in the heat!

Default Hello

All my Future Fleet missions (around 15-20 sub missions, I think) can be played with any sub, including Akula. There are a couple of arctic missions as well.

Updated and in Bill's site.

I some artic op mission objectives MP in mind for akula/infiltration/bird retreival/return safety or akula/stealth/transit and maybe 688/infiltration/TLAM lanuch/return safety, but low priority at the moment.

Kind of like the P-3, I think the fact that SCS totally blew the weapons loadout reduced a bit of the enthusiasm for making Akula missions, and we are still seeing that for Akula/P-3.

I hope the new ASuW capable SLAM-ER in LWAMI will bring the P-3 back a bit, and the new torpedo functions will do so for the Akula, maybe.

See - SSBN's in Dangerous Waters by Captain Norman
(In the main DW posting section.)

Is there a demand for Arctic Boomer piloting type scenarios in MP involving team escort and interception objectives ?

As a experianced and seasond skipper in both the akula and under ice ops i can only stress that you should get to seriously know the area before you commit anything.

Bellmans missions under ice are very good the kara sea search is definatly a good one it took me 7 hours to hunt down the american SSN and i got her eventualy thats real life under ice. (from what ive heard and been told)

Ice life is hard but good treat it right your best ally treat it wrong well dont expect to be rescued.
