I got to thinking about something, so I checked. In the Flotillas.upc you have this:
AvailabilityInterval= 1941-01-01, NULL The "NULL" is the date the sub was taken out of service. This makes the Narwhal available throughout the war. But in actuality, this is what happened (from Wikipedia, which took it from DANFS): "Narwhal departed Brisbane on 6 January 1945 for the east coast via the Panama Canal, entering the Philadelphia Navy Yard on 21 February, where she was decommissioned on 23 April. She was struck from the Naval Vessel Register on 19 May and sold for scrap." Shouldn't the end date be one of those given? Either February or April. Maybe even January?

That's what I did - if you want to play with strict rules regarding dates. On the other hand in the spirit of SH4 UBM 1.5 the way the Dev's made it gives allowances for fantasy "what if" scenarios.
Like, "what if" the Germans had such and such U-Boat? Some people like that. Not my cup of tea though. When they were sunk or decommissioned I remove them from my roster. Happy Hunting! Art PS: I do it externally - I know when a boat was lost or ran aground like S-39 for example and plan my career accordingly... A good program to develop would be a - for lack of a better name - "renown transfer" - allowing a career to move smoothly through many different assigned commands; like keep some crew and take them with you on a new command - although probably not historically accurate ;-) Sorry for drifting OT Edit again - "probably" up there should be replaced with "definitely" not historically accurate and didn't happen - an attempt at humor above. -

this is odd i know but i uninstalled the narwhale mod in favor of playing the alaska command in FOTRS and hadn't messed with it until last night. So i reinstalled it to play with it and the aft deck gun was back on its side. So like before i checked the DAT file Pebody told me to change and the rotation parameters were the same as i had changed them to to correct said occurrence. so... i tried changing the S3d settings to degrees and putting it at 180,0,180 but that did not fix it. Then i re put it the way it was and changed the numbers to the way he said and... it still was on it's side.
I'm lost.... can someone walk me through this.. or send me a fixed dat file?

Pre-War paint job?
Hi could someone maybe do up a skin for the Narwhale that looks like this:
I think it'd look awsom in the game. Not white mind you but that blue gray... heck even the regular black with that V-5 on the tower would look stunning.

Taking the SH4 world tour with V-5 in 1930? It would look good with that V-5 until about 1931 when it was renamed. During the War I don't think most of the boats had hull numbers.... NARWHAL would be SS-167.
With my luck I would probably get backwards numbers on the opposite side but some talented person might be able to put a non visible 'other side' inside and another 'opposite side' inside for the other side. Sure is a nice boat. Happy Hunting!

Are there any different paint schemes at all for the Narwhale? I know there are for the early cheesy looking Narwhale mods but what about the good one?

Nah buddy she's flawless aside from a glitch in my damage model. I'll make a screen shot soon as i can. When i take, say, a shell hit it looks like i just tore the whole bottom of her right out its pretty gruesome. any way to get around that? I was playing the USS Whale but they promoted me to the Narwhale on my 4th patrol last night. Now im out of Perth in dec 42. So... i have the Narwhale and a good veteran crew to man her.

The Marvels harbor entrance is mined apparently... I think were dead.
Anyway thats the damage flaw i was talking about. I could take machine gun fire and have the same results in looks.

I can probably turn out a V-5 or V-6, or a named Narwhal or Nautilus in a few days, after I finish this contracting job...
