Stock Silent Hunter 4 is really bad
I was playing it the other day, I met a convoy of IJN .it had 4 destroyer escorts and I approach it like I do in Silent Hunter 3 ,carefully I then proceeded with attacking ships in the convoy witch only two out of 4 torpedoes actually hit anything even with auto targeting ( one of the others a dud).
I shadowed the convoy on the surface and below for a while ,waiting to get my announcement that the ship sank. I waited for a long time but the announcement never came, apparently these Japanese ships are built from the stronger stuff then in Silent Hunter 3 with GWX. Out of desperation I decide to perform a nighttime surface attack. One of the rear destroyers was closer and he was the first to be attacked. He stood passively waiting for something I don't know what but eventually he remembered that he was a destroyer attacked by an American submarine and finally it started the attack run but missed with all his guns, and I quickly sunk it. His three buddies quickly came to his aid. I dived and waited for the onslaught of depth charges. All I got was 2 depth charges. While the remaining 3 destroyers were madly signaling each other I decided to perform surface attack on the rest of the convoy which was unprotected. I get ahead of the convoy and I Sink 4 ships for 25,000 tonnes. Eventually i got too cocky and a destroyer scraped my side and sunk me( and even at point blank range didn't hit me with his guns ). I remember that meeting a destroyer in sh3 was the same as spitting death in the face when it was drunk and angry. I did like the ending of the career, the mildly sarcastic tone i mean. The graphics aren`t that great either. In the end what mods or mod package do you recommend? I would like eye candy and some increased difficulty. |
