Default SH1 smooth as silk on new DosBox!

I probably could have used an existing thread but I just had to shout it to the world!
Silent Hunter 1 is working perfectly on the new DosBox 0.70
I'm also using the frontend DOG.
It's funny, the new SHIV is out and I'm all excited about playing SHI.
(SHI is probably the better game anyways :p)

SH1 is a GREAT game, and well ironed out after several patches, so it runs stable like a rock and is very accurate. The TDC specially is a beautiful tool.

Hopefully, SH4 will catch up that level of perfection in the near future after being conveniently modded and patched.

I've been playing SHCE with XP VDM/VDMS Sound. With DosBox 0.70 does it eliminate TC limitation of 128X, I think? I know playing the way I do that I think either 2048 or 4096 TC is supported.

Thanks.

Just tested. TC limited to 512 in DosBox 0.70. TC limited to 2048 with XP VDM/VDMS Sound.

Thanks.

I personaly impose on myself a strict no higher then x128 TC anyways. Just adds a little more realism to my simulation.

Yup AOD runs perfectly also!
I only had trouble with SH1 on previous DosBox, it was way to slow, not anymore.

Fiuuu....i was worry
But .....works always

CTRL-F7 = Decreases frameskip

CTRL-F8 = Increases Frameskip

CTRL-F11 = Slows down the game

CTRL-F12 = Speeds up the game

Push CTRL-ALT-DEL and open Task Manager,
Performance tab.
CTRL-F12 until CPU Usage level 95%.
CTRL-F8 as you prefer.

I just installed DosBox 0.70 and SH Commanders Edition, I was able to get 2048 TC.

That's interesting. It could be hardware issue or maybe you have set up your *.CONF file different.

I'll PM you my email address. Maybe you could send me your CONF file so that I could take a look.

Thanks.

Actually I've been lucky enough to have both Silent Hunter and AOD running perfectly since the last version of DOSBox. (.65?)

BTW, I wonder how many hours I've spent playing those two games? I still play both regularly. True Classics!
