Interesting. Game still running wonderfully but having leveled up I stopped into Jorrvaskr for some training and apparently Skjor has returned from the dead. Everyone else still addresses me as the new Harbinger but Skjor is so far behind on current events that he's still calling me a whelp who needs to prove myself.
Also the innkeeper and her female helper in Falkreath have disappeared, by which I mean I can't see them. I hear them greet me when I walk in the door, and I can "find" them in their usual spots and engage them in normal conversation, but they're invisible. I don't go to Falkreath often so unless it turns out to be indicative of a much larger issue, it's really no biggie. Altho it is rather disconcerting to be selling mead to the Invisible Woman. Will prolly return the Star to Azura to make up for what I did at Dagon's shrine. Oh well, I figured if Silus got the Razor there was no telling what he would try to do with it... he always seemed a little shifty to me. It will do no one any harm and be much safer and... uh... look really nice hanging on my wall instead. Well, I'm off to Windhelm to do some buying and selling and see what Ulfric looks like in a loincloth in hi res. You know, just the usual stuff. |

I did stop off at Windhelm after I got done with a bunch of stuff, was doing the main College of Winterhold questline and had to keep reporting back to the College and so it made sense to stop off at Windhelm to get my loot sorted and stored and sold on the way to and fro. Anyways I decide to run up to the Palace of the Kings to say "wassup" to the boys and nobody's on the throne so I wander off into the war room and as soon as Galmar sees me he gets up and ATTACKS me and so does the other burly dude who's always in there, Ulfric's personal bodyguard or whoever he is, and then I'm being SHOUTED ACROSS THE ROOM because Ulfric has appeared out of nowhere and is also hostile and at some point I think Jorleif the steward joined in altho he was cool with me when I walked into the place. Reloaded the same save several times and went back with the same result. I dunno what I did to tick them off. We have run into the thing many times with three Imperial soldiers escorting one Stormcloak prisoner and typically it ends up with the Imperials dead and the prisoner running off but it's possible that, er, occasionally in the fray the prisoner might also get himself dead and I suspect it could be the Magigolo's destruction magic getting out of hand. Would that make them suddenly turn hostile on me? It's not like anything *unusual* has happened lately in that respect. I have interacted with other Stormcloak soldiers even after this happened though and they are the same as they've been since I finished the Liberation of Skyrim storyline. They are not hostile and neither are the guards in Windhelm or anywhere else in Eastmarch or the 2-3 other holds I've been gallivanting around in since. I keep running up to guards to see if I get any trouble or indication of an outstanding bounty and... nothin'. Wondering too if it has anything to do with using the Kill Them Generals mod... altho it supposedly does nothing to NPCs like Galmar and Ulfric, it's only supposed to affect the COs of the various military camps scattered around so you can take them out effectively if you've completed the civil war quests instead of stumbling over one hostile military camp after another with a CO who won't stop fighting you but can't be killed. I dunno. Maybe it'll pass if I wait several days before returning to Windhelm, which is the plan at the moment. |

Just steal the horse outside and see what happens... trust me its a bug I've been attacked by shop keepers too which aren't guards. Getting arrested seems to reset your relations |

Uh yeah, I stole the horse and rode it all the way up to the city gates and got off and looked at the guard and he just stood there. Couldn't have cared less, apparently. I had to try and pickpocket him to get a reaction and a bounty to pay. But that worked in Whiterun and it worked in Windhelm and I actually got recognized and stopped by a guard in Solitude without doing anything and had to pay a bounty there as well. I knew it had to be something I had done that had registered as a criminal offense and borked things up, I just wasn't sure what or if it was Imperial vs. Stormcloaks related or just a general misdeed. When they started chasing me out of Jorrvaskr I knew it wasn't the accidental killing of a Cloaker because the Companions were neutral. I think what it is, is that I was told after the war ended that there would be Imperial solders and camps still around and about and I would know what to do if I came across them. Using Kill Them Generals makes that more realistic since you're not left with some officer in a camp that you can't finish off and therefore there is more motivation to do as I was instructed when I find an Imperial camp or prisoner escort detail. Unfortunately the best way to take out an enemy camp is to sneak up and snipe them with arrows and that's what I've been doing. And I'm guessing that what's happening is that it's getting counted as an assault because I am not "defending myself" against someone who is already attacking me, or who is scripted by the game to do so as part of a storyline-in-progress. So if I sneak up on an Imperial camp and take it out like that it registers as a crime, period. No allowances are being made for the fact that there was a war, it ended, they lost, and they are an enemy military presence refusing to get the heck off of what is now foreign soil. Which really kinda sucks since I'm doing what I was told I should be doing as Stormcloak officer turned freelance adventurer. It's certainly gonna take the fun out of it if I have to run up to every camp and moon the guards in order to provoke them enough to keep me from getting tagged as a felon for killing them. On the plus side, at least Ulfric luurves me again. Oh, sure, he just yammers on and on about the Jarls this and the Jarls that and how there's still a lot of work to be done and rebuilding Skyrim blah blah blah but I know what he means. |

Well I was just passing by a mine being guarded by Stormcloak soldiers when out of the blue one of them yells "look out" or something and draws his weapon and I thought "oh no" but then I turned around and it was another group of Imperials with a captured Cloaker in tow coming right down the path to the mine. So the Stormcloaks guarding the mine took them out and I shot some arrows into the Imperials but I don't know if I hit and/or killed any of them. Pretty sure I was in Eastmarch so we'll see what happens when I stop by Windhelm again. If I get tagged for an assault *this* time I am going to be really unhappy, especially since I gave the freed Cloaker some weapons and gold an an extra Amulet of Talos to see him safely on his way home. |
