What I meant specifically from Neal's thread was:
Quote:
You will need to do a web search for archive rld-sh14.rar or search for Silent hunter 3 v1.4b No DVD/Fixed exe to get the archive. Do not post links in this forum, everyone should know how to use Google.

In the archive you will find 5 data sets (SH3.EXE, MISSIONENGINE.DLL, SIMDATA.DLL, UTILS.DLL & STATEMACHINE.DLL).
Then just install these files, and you have a SH3.exe compatible with H.sie also.

Stiebler.
Negative, wrong checksum. ;s

you need to have repair times unchecked before you use the patch in NYGM

Maybe I found a solution to provide my fixes for all available versions of sh3.exe. So if you have an incompatible version and are interested in using my fixes, contact me and provide me your (original and unpatched) version of sh3.exe.

Hi h.sie,

How are you mate?

I'm using the last v15e (stiebler version) and i should like to say that all works as intend. The game is much more smart and challenge now!
It's really a much better game!

Only one issue (anyway i have to pay attention a bit more to have sure) is related to the cameraxxx.act (attached to the peri fix, no?) The blur is sometimes persistent in external camera (f12) even when my periscopes are down. The effect go out if i'm at slow speed. But notice: the strange is that my periscope are all down. I will try to look better to this issue and will post again if i find something better to explaim the problem.

hello Rubini,

there is no problem with CameraBehavior.act
look at your cameras.dat ....you are ,just, using a cameras.dat that has the blur effect at the node for free camera.
go at the node for free camera and in there find and delete the ''CameraEffects'' and all its child nodes...then save and you are ready to go

bye

@Rubini: Hi mate. I'm fine, thanks. And also thanks for the kind words. As you can see from makman's post, there is nothing wrong with CameraBehavior.act. Just follow his advice.!

@Makman: Hi mate. Thanks for clarification.

I think, only users of MaGUI are affected, because makman94 added some blur-effect to the external camera view. The solution is to remove the blur-effect as makman described some posts above

I don't use MaGUI but there's a standalone 'FreeCamWaterOnLenseEffectMod' what I use...

I´m user of WS Magui (Widescreen version of MaGUI 3.4), and I haven´t the wrong effect in my GWX installation with the Hsie-Stiebler patch...

Regards.

I made my inofficial realism patch compatible to the NO-Starforce (NO-DVD) version of sh3.exe.

It does not only apply all my realism fixes up to V15E3, it also replaces some instable, crappy assembler routines (responsible for CTD) with much more stable routines from later GreenPepper versions of sh3.exe.

It is necessary to also install the contained mod "Supplement to V15E3" via JSGME.

4GB patch MUST be applied AFTER my patch.

Download: See my mediafire page, Folder "SH3 Bugfixes". There you'll find V15E3_NOSF-PatchKit.7z.

Read contained quick-manual.

This is still BETA TESTING!

Be careful: I cannot guarantee that savegames made with unpatched sh3.exe can be loaded with patched version. so don't patch mid-patrol!!!

Great news, I'm about to give it a try, will post experience later!

edit:

so far - (using LSH3 and loaded mid-carreer in port without problems)

- Periscope fix works (blurring at speeds higher than 4 knots, lowering at speeds over 7 knots)
- WO gets up automatically after surfacing
- Inaccurate range estimations seem to work
- Longer repair times work - I assume "05:00" on the damage screen means five hours for damaged batteries. Now my pretty experienced repair crew can handle the flooding quickly but will have to work pretty long on the broken things, great! Also due to not so quick repairs I seem to have lost a lot of Diesel out of the damaged Brennstoffzellen.

Not sure if this is intended or a bug (might be caused by the exe but as well by something else): receiving a lot of depth charges my batteries and electro engines died, leaving me completely unable to maneuver at about 140 meters. After the flooding was handled quickly, my boat didnt sink but started to rise slowly to the surface. Should it be like that?

- Realistic torpedo reload works
- Fog warning works
