Reminds me of a story where survivors in boats actually did scream "Heil Hitler" at a U-Boat because they were scared of being machine gunned. The sub's W/O told them to shut up and gave them provisions.

I believe that was from U-99, they had picked up a survivor that thought they were on a British sub.
