If King Arthur had listened to the advice from most of the NUM committee and gone for a ballot the out come could've of been different as he would have got the vote that he needed and it would have been a 100% strike with the backing of other unions like the dockers.

Not sure on that one, but my then next door and also my colliery NUM secretary who was also pretty high up on the NUM committee ladder as well did get a brand new ford escort in August 1984 6 months into the strike
