Nah.
The cat is being held in the air by the skin behind it's neck in the same way a mother cat carries kittens.
It's a natural reaction to tuck their tails in when carried this way.
A scared cat will wag it slowly around.

I always laugh when our cat comes in scared from outside, his tail is so fat, usually means a lurking fox about. I call it a truncheon!!

Sorry I don't think much of this site, I have never seen my cats with their tails between the legs except when sleeping, a dog yes! If terrified there tail stick straight out, they may also have an arched back and ears back as well as growling and hissing. Funny to watch when another Tom approaches, the noises are certainly varied!

What isn't funny is the Tomcat scent/stink!!!

My cat sleeps with his tail wrapped up, sometimes between his back laegs, somtimes wrapped outside.

When a cat is angry, the end of the tail twitches, irritated.

When a cat is picked up, especially a cat that is not yours, use the scruff of the neck, it means that it cannot bite you AND is a normal way to elevate a cat.

There are programmes on tv about vets and animal police usa etc, watch how they pick up a cat, by the neck.
