I'm going to be a pessimist (I am a Scot, afterall...) and say that, yes, the SNP might lose a few but they'll probably keep the majority of what they have.

And, no. Sturgeon will not shut up after a Tory victory. She'll just get more strident.

An election is always a gamble but this time round I reckon the odds are looking favourable for the Tories.

May obviously needs as large a majority as possible to get her Brexit plans accepted.

I agree she will get more militant with her views but she will not use that old one I was elected by the people anymore, well to be fair she still has 10 weeks before May's victory.

I think she will get a good 50 odd seats more unlike what the silly polls seem to suggest 100 plus seats! Old JC spouting the same old slogans and TF is on another planet thinking his party will become the main opposition.

In some ways this is good, once Labour gets wiped out the sooner sensible Labour can clean out all these morons and start to rebuild the party. But on saying that if JC and his gang remain in charge after the defeat then Labour is finished and will join the LibDem with a handful of MP's.

Wondering-How many of you, my English friends did expect this when you went to bed last night ?

Was the any rumour in the air that could give a hint about this or ?-Here in Denmark and Sweden there are mostly rumours or similar before a Prime minister say time for an Election.

If the SNP get the largest percentage of the Scottish vote, which seems most likely, she can still trot that one out.

Glasgow and the surrounding area has roughly 41-plus percent of Scotland's population. It's a truism that to control Scotland, you must control Glasgow and the Clyde Valley constituencies. Labour used to, now it's the SNP's turn. That's a heck of a base.

The only way to avert that is to get enough Glaswegians to not vote SNP. Which is unlikely to happen.
