i hit a takao that had stopped with one torp directly in the middle on its port side and it went to flank and rudder right full and finally rolled and coasted for a mile upside down and after 12+ hours was still floating. the sinking is where if flipped and i am under it |

@GoldenEagle8,
Speed up ( Up-Grade ) all three ( Processor,Ram,Video card ) and your movies will look 100% better, as will SH4 when you play it. It would drive me nuts to watch all that stutter as I played the Sim. Your Idea for your movie was very good though. Have you tried this to see where your computer stands with SH4? http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/ubi_srl Except for the minimum Ram of one gig your stats are not even in the ball park and the ram needs uped by at least two gigs.Two gigs will work ok but three sure are a lot better, but processor and graphic card first ( if your motherboard can handle it? ).

I posted pics earlier about a Takao that I capsized and she wouldn't sink, and an Ise BB that I put a hurtin' on. Well it took 6 hours of evading DC's then another 24 hours of hunting but I finally tracked down and caught the Ise shortly after sunset on Feb 2, 1942. Beautiful night, clear skies, full moon. Beautiful for me anyway. Don't know what the Japs thought of it :hmm:
Here is her demise: 1st, here she is as I made my approach from her port beam. Range about 1100 yds. Decent list to port, nice fires going, she was making 4 kts. Had fallen way behind the task force, at least 10-12 nm. No probs, right? Easy kill... I was so intent on setting up the shot, I totally missed something See if you can spot what I missed in this pic, coming up at flank speed. Check the bone in her teeth: Oh sh*t, it's another Takao Rapidly closing between me and the Ise. Don't have a clue where she came from, or if she knew I was there, I was at PD, dead stop, silent running, periscope just barely showing above the surface. Hopefully a "hole in the water" Decided to take a chance, stayed at PD and took the occasional peek with the periscope. That damned Takao passed not even 200 yds off my bow and never even slowed down! YEAHHHH!!!! TIME TO GO TO WORK!!!!! "Up scope! AOB 85 port! Range 900! Speed 4! Open tube 3! Depth 21, spread right 2 degrees! Fire tube 3!" Here's the impact: Nice plume of water, detonations in the aft magazine, decided to hold off the 2nd shot. Final result: That was a satisfying hunt DH |

I came across my first convoy, consisting mostly of Freighters, but 2 warships as well. I took out a couple freighters with torpedoes, and soon after the warships caught on to me. As I was aiming at the broadside of a freighter, I fired. as the torpedo travelled through the water, one of the warships came out of nowhere, intercepting the shot and taking it right in the front of the ship. It exploded and immediately showed up on my log as Ship Destroyed. it had a great display of fire which was pretty delightful, broke in half, and sunk. i took out the rest of the freighters (except 3 stubborn ones that were stationary and wouldn't sink) and the other warship (I think a destroyer) came on to me. I was still at periscope depth, and the warship was closing directly behind me. I was running out of batteries and air, so I had to come up soon. I decided i'd fire at it with my aft torpedo, and it also nailed the destroyer in the front, causing immediate explosion. This one went straight up and down vertical and sank. With my last torpedo, I sank one of the stubborn ships, and after much fooling around with the deck gun (which I don't know where to aim) I sank the other two ships. After depletion of all my torpedoes and much ammunition, I decided to head home. The sonar readings on the map I don't really know why they're there because I was surfaced, but they're all lifeboats as well as the other red enemies on the map. What a great start to a great game! |
