Here's some pics of my first real S-Boot patrol...

Nice calm weather, I spot an ore carrier

I speed towards at full throttle

I let off two eels at the last second and turn away just in time... both hit

Inspecting my kill

My actions attrct some unwelcome visitors, a couple of elcos, and a couple of vospers

I take heavy damage as I try to bear some lead down on their asses

I'm able to take out one elco and one vosper before they eventually take me out

Five ships in total (the southampton needed to be finished off after stopping but not sinking). With the rough sea and darkness after the first pass it was all surface work, being able to get in close with escorts looking horribly near. Finishing off the southampton drew off a corvette and a black swan and left them about 16 Km behind the convoy leaving a gap for my third pass. That pair of escorts were detained by a straggler a little way further back which sank soon after the cruiser went down, presumably the sound of the sunken small cargo was read as a u-boat. The nice advantage of the IXB, plenty of reloads.
