I am not knowledgeable concerning steam, but in most (if not all) installs of SH3, the path should contain "data" between SilentHunterIII and Sea: .../SilentHunterIII/data/Sea/...

Odd ... I had the same corrupt file. It is in "data" ...
\Data\Sea\NKSs_\NKSs_T05.tga Using Photoshop, I checked all the .tga files in that folder and found they're similar. So I cloned the yellow one and renamed the clone A/R. I had no other corrupt files (leastwise, no other corruptions were reported during the installation process). So far, the game still works. |

Gah, its no use i can't be doing with the compas rose in the map and TDC i've tried to play with it active but its confusing, it clogs up the screen when i'm trying to get a clear view of whats going on.
does anyone know the controling file for this please? i've found this? C:\Program Files\UBISOFT\SilentHunterIII\data\Menu\Gui\Layout \Radius.tga is this the file? if so what do i replace it with to bring it back to normal? Edit, Found it, there's one for each sub in the /submarine folders right? ok, now to dig out the originals. Last edited by Melonfish; 08-09-09 at 07:38 AM. |

Probably the easiest way is to edit the menu_1064 file and move it out of the way.

@ Tonschk,
I can't say that I've run into many who are so happy about getting 'killed' ... but I'm glad you are enjoying yourself. |

actually i've been somewhat surprised with how much i Haven't died.
slipped into a convoy in a pea souper on sat night, could hear 4 escorts around it, got inbetween a couple of lines and low and behold a beautiful sight! a large tanker on an inbound convoy! sank her with 3 eals wide spread under 800m the flash must have cleared the local weather it was that big a boom. spent the next hour and a half being chased and depth charged, swanning about at 200m but not a drop of damage! sweet. late war i expect to be a smear on a destroyers hull but that was a nice realistic kill. stock game i'd have taken out or outfoxed the destroyers and sank nearly all the convoy, in gwx its real, i have to slip in make my shots and vamoose! then charge ahead to catch em again. its pure rock! |

Wow, that is real, Melonfish! I love it when people are excited about sinking one ship and getting away with it.
In wargaming I've always said it's not about what's technically realistic, but about how it feels.
