Long story short, stick to deeper waters and look at the sunken dangers map to help you plot a course out of base.

Only thing I can find in the manual about Helgoland is that it's gotten a Terrain Modification. Can't find anything about there being mines there....

Yeah, I've been doing that... as for the Deeper waters part, I didn't think/realize that it was that shallow around there. Luckly, I was heading out, and not in... If it had happened after a successful patrol, then... I'd probably would have broke something.

BTW: My campaign date during the sinkings was around January 1940. Currently, the date is August of 1990. Regardless, I still think I hit a patch of shallow water around there. Maybe the terrain modification caused it or maybe it's in the stock version, too. Doubt anyone would bother sailing thru there in the stock version though.

edit: heh, August of 1940. Geez...you knew what I meant....

August 1990? That's one long war.

And in the sea between Britain and Europe is naturally kind of shallow. (It gets deeper the higher north you go.) Stick to your map and use the echolot.

Salute!

It's so good to be back.. I have finally fixed/updated my computer so I can start hunting again.

So I see GWX has been updated to 3.0 now.. That's awesome

I have GWX installed and ready, but I want to use some other mods as well.

Is it possible to use GWX3, LRT v2.04 and OLC Gold together?
And in what order should I activate them?

I'm excited...I'm very very excited to play sh3 again...oh so excited

OLC's fantastic work is a part of GWX 3.0
Enable the 16k mod and it's there.
Other mods are posted elsewhere here at SubSim.
With pretty complete instructions on how to enable,
and the order.

FYI 3.0 messages_en line error

The messages_en file in GWX 3.0 Line 253 seems to have a timmer setting error, easy player/user fix with a text editor.

Current:
19400201 0001 19400203 2000 1 1002 0 @Bdu@

Should be:
19400201 0001 19400203 2000 1 100 20 @Bdu@

I just uninstalled SH3, rollback SH3-Commander. Reinstalled SH3 and patched to 1.4B.
Next installed GWX3 single-download version.

Now it says ''modded files are found'' . And it won't install. Can someone tell me what's the problem?

Did you remember to un-install the mods folder from the previous install you had if not remove it from the Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII folders in program files or wherever you had it installed.

I didn't have any modes installed before re-installing SH3.

Except from SH3-Commander wich I rolled back.

After uninstalling SH3 did you manually delete the ...\SilentHunterIII\... program folder?
Maybe that solves your prob...

I uninstalled it via the 'software' list, this uninstalled everything except the file in 'my documents' .

I'll uninstall it again and try again...
