I'm currently torrenting 4.1 but I've got 4.0 and the 4.09 patch. I like what I'm hearing so far...although I do wish that they used an ftp. For me it's a LOT faster than a torrent, no matter what they say
Right...time to save my Oberon skins and wipe IL2 and reinstall. Wish me luck fellas!

Probably better not to kill off UI yet though...

The torrent is a pain, took me since yesterday to download 4.0, 4.1 was faster though.

EDIT: In fact, I'd like to know who the idiot that came up with the notion that torrent is faster in the first place is...

Torrent is fast when there is enough people to seed the thing.

Torrents are great and the speeds good unless the file is really rare, just DON'T use Bittorrent. The are much better alternatives available. Also make sure you're upping the file at the same time because not doing that might drop down your download speed.

On my Linux rig I use its default client, Transmission. On Windows side I use Opera's internal BT client. Both are simple and easy to use, and work.

Well, the 4.0 installer is available on Megaupload (Not such a big improvement IMO, but it doesn't need special software), and I could probably upload the 4.1 installer somewhere if you want...

Yeah, 4.1 will be mirrored on megaupload before long which is the better option IMHO. You can get 4.0 to start with and go from there.
I don't have the harddrive space for multiple installs, so I'm going to throw my chips in with HSFX and see how it goes. From what I've heard though, it IS the way ahead.

Which means you probably won't be flying with us any time soon... (Not that I ever see you around anyway)

I used bittorrent and don't have any issues.

I'll uninstall it now I have the file.

Anyway I have installed it and can't see anything extra.
