Yet another thanks to the GW developers for GWX.

Have been busy with work and unable to find the time to play SHIII the past few months, but looking forward to jumping back in with GWX. Funny thing is, where I'm working is right on the Lisahally docks where the U-boat fleet surrendered. To go to work every morning to the sound of seagulls and the smell of the River Foyle has me longing for my old U-48.

I think my system will need some work before I set sail - the X600 isn't cutting it - I was actually running GW1.1a on that thing, albeit with a good deal of lag. I just need a little advice on my other parts - Pentium D 3GHz and 1GB 553MHz DDR2 RAM - would I be needing an upgrade here? A new GFX card is a must (thinking of getting a 8800 or X1950XTX). Any help from the tech-savvy people? Cheers.

Again, thanks to the developers. Where this game would be without you we dare not think.

Merry Christmas!

Hi Heinz
Welcome to subsim
Yes there was a patch released Dec 23rd
Go to my Filefront account ( below my sig ) to D\L

Extract the D\L into C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\YOUR GWX INSTALL\MODS
Run the JSGME program - located in
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\YOUR GWX INSTALL

When the program is open
Select the Dec 23rd patch in the left hand window and enable through centre buttons

Make sure you are in port first
Rollback SH3 commander
Disable any mods you have installed through JSGME

Hope that helps
Ask away again if you need to

@Bigboywooley:

AI've already downloaded and installed it, it's great!!!!! Oh yeah, right on with the sensors, the DD's are neither dumb nor über and what you just told me regarding the possibility to call in air support just makes it even greater, something I have always wanted

By the way, on my previous install I had the 6 dials sim feeling installed, I see that in GW you also have the big black menu bar which hides too much of the beautiful graphic work you have made, is there a GW compatible 6dial sim feeling mod? Also I miss the big and highly accurate instruments I had....but that's all I miss, this is great!

Spotted a single ship SW of Norway early in the war. Can't make a sighting report on that but after pursuing it for some time, a flight of 3 Ju-88's arrived and bombed and strafed it!

Good job my AA gunners weren't on duty - 'cos they shoot at everything (not that they actually hit anyting!).

I love this mod!

Haven't been around in a while but some things never change - bigboywooly still the most helpful man in the Kriegsmarine.

It's good to be back.

One question, is the lit ships mod included in GWX? If so, does it cover the Irish coastal ships also like the mod you made for my GW1.1a? I'll have to get my old Vospers in GWX too.

Thanks for the patch! It's beautiful, with previous mods I hated the damage systems but here it seems perfect, I love all the new presentation and cosmetic features

My only questions ...

Is there any way of getting back the orange, sub-locating marker in external view?

Do the generic realism options prior to patrol actually effect the game anymore? I finished my first patrol with GWX yesterday, I had 'No Dud Torpedos' on but I put three into a ship (In rough seas @ 700-800m) and 2 of them just cracked off the hull The other went off smoothly ...

Do I have to pay attention to the extra radio messages regarding what I should and shouldn't hit? tbh i don't fully understand it all, obviously it says no passenger ships etc but then I took out some Passenger/Cargo's and it was no problem... I have SH3 Commander installed too but this is the first time I've used that too...

I had problems with fatigue, I couldn't regenerate some crew members past a quite low (Just before the !) level, I read the manual that said at 1024 Time Compression fatigue is unaffected as part of SH3's core, but I never had such problems previously ... Will the relevant medals still make crew members immune to fatigue?

Thanks

Here's a quickie (bedtime for me)
Copy and paste the 'Umark tga' from an original install of SH3...you can find it in:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Misc
