Since my last post I have
A. edited the textures to make the free flood holes match up on either side B. made the free flood holes look as they do in RL, split into thirds like you see in the pictures. I will upload pics after I run it through the game OH, and I modified the Gun's .sim to have the historical values, I put loading time at 8 seconds, and I made it so you can't traverse the gun as fast as you can move the mouse, it turns like they do in RFB, but with a little more haste.. anyone know how they aimed these guns?

nice texture btw This has been my favorite sub since Silent Service I but I didn't know they faced so little combat in RL... Anyways, so the IJN wasn't the only navy with tranports submarines ! You can edit all the textures, they were "basic" textures only, but please keep the dash/flag on the gun ok ? what time is it your time ? here : 1021 am keltos |

its almost 3:30 AM here, I usually work better when everyone else is fast asleep...in my time zone anywho.
I just tested the gunnery against a Japanese destroyer, aaaand....well....i lost, of course, but we set her decks ablaze in a few minutes combat! EDIT: and I find the gun textures to be just fine, no need of editing, I just wish I knew why the tower is all...dark. other than that, we can call this one pretty much wrapped up, after a few tweaks, like the guns' traverse speed (which i set for 10 degrees a second.) and other little bits.

can you look for a better wood texture for the deck ? get rid of the wooden bullhorn in favor of a steel one When I fight it off with US destroyers from my Jyunsen 1M, the Dual 5.5 inch usually sinks them quickly enough for me to survive maybe check the shell the guns' using and its destructive power ? btw as for the sinkholes in the hull : I could've made it in 3D but that would've meant an inner hull model inside the hull and I don't think it's necessary at this time. keltos |

.30 Browning machine gun
The Narwhal had 2 of those as AA weapons at the start of the war.
We at the Japanese Campaign have already modelled a 7.92 mm machine gun that now equips our boats at the start of the war, has anyone made a .30 or .50 machine gun for the US side ? keltos |

Which is why I put them to either side of the stairs. you could just copy a couple of the toorpedo tubes from the model, and put them in the right place.
they were probably angled out (/\ instead of ||) so they could keep the relatively streamlined shape is it possibe to make more water_particles nodes? because I think it would look awesome if we coulld put like 5 for the gundeck slats on either side

RL Narwhal color
http://www.earth2.net/usnavy/ss167/ss167_01.php you can see it should be painted dark blue/black all over as in RL. as for the tubes you are right : they were angled outwards, the problem being with the torpedoes firing straight : they would show half outside if we did it this way, so yeah tubes next to the stairs. as for particle nodes.. maybe clone a few ? never worked with those before.. keltos |
