periscope and tdc
Hi,
In the Heinz Schaeffer book (U-977) he explains that the periscope and maybe the UZO (can't remember exactly) were linked to the TDC with some kind of mechanic wheels so when moving the periscope (for example you adjust the aim to a specific weak point) the TDC would automatically update the solution too ! But when I practice manual targeting as explained at the end of the book, when I move the periscope the TDC value will stay the same. Am I missing something there ? Thx. |

Are you sure the TDC is set to auto update? This is done at the TDC station (F6), when in manual mode you can enter data manually and the TDC will not update if you move the scope. When auto is on you can't enter data manually, but instead it will update automatically when you move your scope.

again, I am stupid ! forgot to set back to auto, because I thought turning back to auto would then take the notepad data again.

It appears you may have a few corrupted .bin files Mate. Compare the MD5 hash codes to each file with whats displayed below...
Users can verify GWX 2.0 file integrity with the following MD5 hash if they so choose: D1FF0D6BFD651E869E323D393B1D5B1E GWX2.EXE 7B14767E3FD8DD9866D902D6CB4B69FE GWX2-1.BIN 2718CAD3259B5A43DF03AA88DEAB402B GWX2-2.BIN AB9AF05BD89263A018F383EDA589DE90 GWX2-3.BIN 0FFDB16F197E159E61651DB5D805529A GWX2-4.BIN 753D95679C46DF2C54AF7E93B0CCB6EB GWX2-5.BIN AB5D09575688802B08156CE1C24C6C88 GWX2-6.BIN 5BF3E05A81D0E4E09F331090FD3C4C7B GWX2-7.BIN (and read very carefully all the instructions on the GWX download section) |

Can we clear this up, once and for all.
The installer log does NOT indicate corrupt GWX files, It only checks the status of the SH3 Installation on your PC. So, if you're getting those results, your installation is NOT a clean/unmodded SH3 1.4b.

Secondarily, if people are not using the SH3 disk to uninstall SH3... then residual files relating to the stock game may be left behind and 'flagged' by the GWX installer as being problematic. Uninstall your game using the SH3 disk... then manually delete remaining SH3 files/mods in your Program Files/Ubisoft folder before building a new installation of SH3 patched to version 1.4b. Doing so will save users and GWX user support personnel a great deal of confusion and consternation. |
