Night 4
Lights Off

Raptor informs the survivors that the lights will be off for a shorter time than
usual tonight to avoid overcharging one of the battery cells.

As the noise of the day dimms a new sound can be heard in the dark. A faint
ping...ping...ping... After a while it quietens and dies away.

Lieutenant Chad made his way upstairs to search the captain's quartos
under torch light. As he reached the top he looked up and saw Nokia and
CaptainHaplo. They look at Chad with disgust, certain he was the foul
monster that roamed the ship at night. Swiftly they pushed him down the
flight of stairs he had just climbed and he was dispatched on the steel floor
below.

Oberon, who tried to have Chad lynched before, looked on in
silence as the blood drained from the back of Chad's skull.

[Oberon]

*Oberon sighs and looks down.*

*He punches a bulkhead, injuring his fist.*

"Dammit..."

*He picks up Chads corpse and takes it away to the Cargo Hall to put him in a bodybag alongside the others.*

[Oberon]

*After disposing of Chad, Oberon finds Raptor.*

"Hey...look, I know that you're a nuc but, does this boat have a sonar room? It's just...not long after you put the lights out...I could have sworn I heard pinging..."

[Jimbuna]

*Jimbuna approaches Oberon*

"Nice one.....less than half of us poor unfortunates are bothering to rid us all of this menace and the real culprit/culprits are sitting back enjoying the show"

*As he walks off in the direction of the rescue vessel he is heard to say "Yep....a right bunch I've been landed with this time. They should have called this tin coffin HMS Petticoat or better still, HMS Abstention"*

"I.....I....I can't believe this... I can't believe I've just killed and innocent man...this....this must be a dream! THIS CAN'T REALLY BE HAPPENING!!"

*Sits down on the floor and tries to calm down*

How could we....how could I....this is the reason I haven't voted the previous days...

*After calming down goes to the cargo hall and sits down beside Chads body*

"I know this won't help you but...I'm sorry...I voted for you for the wrong reasons and I know I should not have done so... Rest in peace my friend."

*After sitting there about 15 minutes goes back to the bar passing jimbuna on the way and hears what he said*

"If you think that then apparently you don't know how fitting the name Thanatus really is"

*Enters the bar area*

"Gentlemen, don't you think the name of the sub is a bit strange, at least that's what I thought that the first time I heard about it. And I finally remember why it sounded strange and familiar, Thanatos was the personification of Death in Greek mythology. And guess what, in Latin the name is translated Thanatus, now earlier Raptor1 said the explosions looked like sabotage. But I'm afraid it might be worse! Now I don't believe the name and sabotage are mare coincidence I think this was planned by someone higher up. Now I'm loyal to the government but this is just too strange to be coincidence! What i'm thinking of is that these "things" might be the product of some experiment gone wrong or something.

They killed Chad?!?!!?!

*sighs*

See, this is the sort of thing that happens when you go about slaughtering random people...

*walks to Oberon*

What was that you said about pinging?

[Oberon]

*Oberon stratches the back of his head*

"It was strange, just as the noise quietened down, I heard pinging, like sonar pinging...if there is a sonar suite on this boat I must have a listen, it could be that someone is attempting to contact us."

[Raptor1]

Yeah, there's a sonar room in the conning tower, don't know if anything works there anymore though...

[Oberon]

*Oberon shrugs and grins*

"Only one way to find out...of course, I'm no sonar techy, but I can tell a ping from a fish farting."

*He heads up to the conning tower and sits down in front of the sonar console.*

"Hmmm, looks a bit like the Swiftsures suite, so, in theory..."

*He puts on the headphones and starts sweeping the waters.*

*Sits with his back to the wall, facing everyone. His life could end in an instant. Something attacking them at night, or a mob in the day. He proved he could stay up 24 hours. Now it looks like he needs to break the record.

He sips coffee to keep him awake.

He sure hopes that Raptor1 can keep him safe from those who are out for blood.*

DAY 5
LIGHTS ON

No one had much time to sleep before the lights came on again.
They will not go off again until 5am tomorrow because the batteries need
to be loaded for a while in order to prevent cell 5 from overcharging.

Everyone not in the brig turns up for a quick roll-call.

The lynch vote has almost become routine and is called again.
You may vote for any survivor.

"Guys! I think I heard propeller noises from outside! Is it the other rescue sub!?!?!"

[Oberon]

*Oberon puts down the sonar headphones*

"Well, I'll be damned if I can figure any of that out..."

*He puts the print-out in his pocket.*

"I wonder what that pinging was..."

*To Raptor.*

"The murders only happen when the lights go off, so, surely if we keep an eye on him and keep Jalu3 away from him, we can escort Baggygreen to the sonar station and get some sense out of this?"
