And for those of you who are adventurous, ready for a challenge, possibly very boring duty at times (doo-dee??), since there's only 15 items that the computer can choose from at this time, ~AND~ it's only a one year assignment from June of '42 to July of '43 at Dutch Harbor... ~IF~ you want to try it out, go to
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zogngodlf7...Alaska.7z?dl=0 click on "Cancel, continue to the download" on the irritating DropBox wanting you to sign up box, and then download the file, which is CampaignAlaska.7z Like I say, it's only 15 things that you can get assigned, but it's better than the one that was in there before - maybe. I had to copy stuff from elsewhere for the DynamicMiss.cfg file, and it may not be correct. Half of what's here now is from TMO, the rest is copies of other things. We already know about the boats, the Superman DD and the Killer Planes, and be aware of that as you go about your patrols. Dutch Harbor only assigns you either an S-18 or S-42 class initially, and I don't know if they have any others in their inventory, though I do know they had Gato boats going out of there, just from the little bit of reading I've done. I want to know if I should drop the photo recons and the insert commandoes tasks, and if you get relatively rotating assignments, and not the same Patrol Attu over and over and over again... An occasional over and over is understandable, due to there only being 15 assignments at this time... |

Bases and Hinky Momi II
After reading the posts above regarding the missing bases, I redownloaded the version currently available in the Download section. After deleting the "old" version, loading the "new" one, I had the same problem, no base to return to. So now I've acquired the patch and will see how that goes.
Meanwhile, on that last patrol, on Dec. 22, 1941 off Honshu way South of Tokyo Bay, I met a small convoy consisting of a single Destroyer Escort Momi II, a 41k ton old passenger liner, a large tanker, and a hospital ship. The Momi was bouncing across the waves, rocking from side to side like a drunk! It rode high in the water with its screws coming out of the water when it rolled the other way. The sea was calm. He came pretty much straight at me, so I fired one torp at 700 yards that totally disabled him. Then I was able to dispatch the liner with seven torpedoes, and the tanker with three more. I let the hospital ship go its merry way. The action of the Momi was the strange part. Have you had this reported yet?

Crew verbal responce
After hitting a target and it is a confirmed sinking the crew says we hit it!!! She is going down sir...The "we hit it" is much later than initial torpedo hit time...Crew should say we hit it sir when the torpedoes hit...Then when confirmed as sinking they should at that time say she is going down sir..

Here goes nothin.
Okay, started career in middle 43 from Brisbane. Supply run to New Britain. There is no sound when I am at the hydrophones. I get the light but I cant even hear my own props. I don't know if this was on purpose but when you secure from battle stations you get no Boatswaines pipe. Im okay with that because it was annoying. When sounding GQ the uboat bell rings. I also noticed that the radar depth hot button also says decks awash. Is this for uboats? I am just not used to it saying that. Very nice addition. And last but not least I am not getting any up or down scope noise.
I also have a question. What is the method to drop the supplies. I don't remember anymore? |
