what would be really amazing is to fire flares into the air from random life boats
but on another not regarding the sounds... are we going to hear the sounds from 1200 meters away? or will it be more realistic as in we have to be pretty close to them? PS. Release this bloody thing already!!!! hahaha

The unique trigger are the waterinteraction and very few others, what isn't enough and also non applicable in all situations.
