Went out and grabbed Hacksaw Ridge and some Chinese takeout and had a good afternoon.

I really enjoyed Hacksaw Ridge although the ending felt rather abrupt and IMHO could have expanded on the characters better. But overall a great movie about a great man.

Some days ago I read a comment made by a movie critic(can't remember the exact title)

he wrote that you can't stop falling in love with LA-LA-Land, it is the best musical on this side of the 2000.

I have also noticed it have won many, many prices and even more in this Oscar 2017.

When I read this comment by this movie critic I remembered what Jimbuna wrote.

I have come to the conclusion that maybe you have to have female genes to love or understand this movie.

No I have not seen as much of a second of this movie and I have no interest in seeing it-I don't like musicals.

Throughout the latest three to four days I have seen commercial for a movie King Kong Skull Island. Earlier this evening I toke a look at the movie on IMDB. 8.6/10..That was a high score, so it seems like it's a good action movie....or ?

Since the last two remakes of King Kong sucked, I have very low expectations for this one. It looks like it is going to be another CGI fest.

I just watched the original just the other night... still can't beat it.

Actually, the success of La La Land is not all that surprising; it is what is called in Hollywood a "movie movie", a film celebrating aspects of film-making, in this case the beloved movie musicals of the past. It's just Hollywood giving itself a pat on the back. Nothing will get kudos from the film community more fervently than a film catering to the 'collective ego' of Hollywood. Considering the dross coming out of Hollywood nowadays, being able to look back with fondness at the past glories may be a bit of a balm to smooth over the hurt from the crass commercialism of major studio releases. Thankfully, there is still a lot of good viewing to be found in the independent film areas...

Really enjoyed Bruce Willis' movie "A Good Day to Die Hard" last night. Nowadays it seems there has to be a destructive car chase and a spectacular copter-crash in every action film, and this had the best of both.

I'm like a lot of you guys and have a long list of ones I like.

Out of laziness, I say that "Blade Runner" is my favorite. It definitely IS among my favorites but there are others that are only a few decimal places lower.
