It's a pity those responsible for bestowing all the awards on it didn't feel similarly

Manage to get time to saw a few movies that wanted.
Passengers: I agree with what Gargamel wrote. IMO, the first part of the movie is the best one and the 2nd part, I think the writer didn't know what route to follow, so did a little bit of many.
The 0 gravity pool scene, made me think...

Hawksaw Ridge: good solid film, with good battle scenes; in overall I liked. A. Garfield does a good role and the support cast is also good (Vincent Vaughn as a drill Sargent, never thought...)

Arrival: strange and good sci-fi movie. Didn't got the all premisses of the movie before the last part, quite liked that. Just have a few thinks with how the argument dealt with the "how to communicate" and how the leading character was chosen. Possibly a few plot holes, but in all, the film is good.

Just because you don't like it does not make it a bad movie. It makes it a movie not for you. Others may enjoy it. There are enough movie theaters for movies for all tastes.

Only two seasons to go...season eight will be the final one.

Yeah.... *spoilers*...... I got to thinking, you should be able to swim through the type of bubble she was in. I mean, it'd just be like a bird flapping it's wings. You push against the water and something will move. I dunno if you'd be able to fully escape, as you get halfway out and run out of stuff to push against, but at the very least you should be able to get your head out to breathe.

Yes, at least to catch your breath. If one (in similar situation) is with the head out of the water bubble and began to move the feet as if swiming crawl (free style [correct term?]), the movement would create motion or even disrupt the bubble. I think...
Besides that, it's a fun film to watch.

The genesis and production of the film is very interesting; it took about eight years to complete and is largely an amateur production:

I remember when it was released here in the US; it provoked a bit of controversy and, at the time was probably more discussed and criticized, both good and bad, than it was actually viewed...

Not a film starting tonight here in the UK on BBC 1 9pm five part series SS-GB

Quote:
New series. Drama set in an alternate history of the Second World War where Germany won the Battle of Britain and has gone on to occupy the UK. In 1941, two Scotland Yard detectives investigate the murder of a nuclear scientist, under constant surveillance from their SS superiors. The arrival of an American journalist leaves one of the policemen convinced something more danger is at work - while a contact in a resistance movement reveals a threat to his own son.

Got around finally and watched "The Eagle" (2011). I knew I wasn't going to like it because of a) Channing Tatum and b) the whole Ninth's destruction in Scotland myth.

And, well... unsurprisingly, I didn't like it.

Nothing on last night so I dusted off a DVD film from my shelf not seen in years and what a film.

Saw the 1963 film Cleopatra yesterday. Very impressive, though I feel it began to fall apart towards the end.

Also, had they not the budget to get clearer water for Cleopatra's bath scene?
