Ah I understand now....yes the deck for the guns follows exactly the same profile as the main deck, only higher.
BTW remember that the texture of the upper part of the deck must look the same as the main deck, and in the sides of the gun deck, the texture will need to be able to display the flooding holes.

We cross posted
Yes it looks much better now, but still some small gaps are visible at certain places. Also, the shape of the hull is continued in the gun platform, i.e. the curvature of the hull as it goes up and meets the gun deck must continue naturally, not suddenly turn vertical in the gun deck. I'll post a picture, wait a minute

This is the side cut, you can see that the gun platform follows the profile and inclination of the main deck. At the central part, it keeps curving inward, and at the wider parts, where the guns are located, it is vertical the same as the sides of the hull which protude.

boy are you hard to please !
tired now... nearly midnight here ! as for the holes, the textures can be added : the sides, top etc of the gun deck are all separate pieces in the dds file hence the wooden deck I made here in a couple minutes. keltos Last edited by keltos01; 07-09-09 at 05:10 PM. |

Steps from gun platform to weather deck
You can see steps to deck from gun platform both sides of
bow gun, Also rear gun has them too. That is when sailor wanted to go to deck from gun platform he did not jump, but used steps. http://www.navsource.org/archives/08/0817214.jpg

close up : the fore hatch comes directly behind the cable strut, which I will have to modify to look like this one. The gun platform is set on a whole bunch of struts too, I guess to help with the water exiting the boat, that could be 3 Ded. I also notice a hand rail on the front part of the tower, the small platform there (approx one man tall) has a railing. Our tower might be a bit 2 tall, although verified from the blueprints I had, not sharp enough for small details like that... as for the V6 (Nautilus) : Miss Jean Keesling, the 16 year old daughter of a prominent San Francisco attorney, was the sponsor of the V-6 (SC-2) at its launching at Mare Island Navy Yard on 15 March 1930. launch : (look at the tube doors) right.. boy are you guys attentive ! http://www.navsource.org/archives/08/08168a.htm I'll make them ok, but now I'm off to the Big Jump in Han-sur-Lesse. http://www.bigjump.be/fr/ou_hansurlesse.php Keltos Last edited by keltos01; 07-11-09 at 02:03 AM. |

still working on the hull shape issue, but the latest pictures I found and Hitman's critics are bringing us closer to the real thing everytime I make a change, and those shouldn't affect the texture file coordinates as I am merely changing the shape, not cutting / adding to it.
will work more on it tomorrow. keltos |
