[TEC] SH4 Bonus Narwhal Mod Not Working Correctly

Hi guys. I downloaded the Silent Hunter 4 bonus USS Narwhal mod and intend to use it with TMO w/TW. However when I load into the game, the USS Narwhal’s conning tower and rear deck gun is missing. Any tip as to how this issue could be resolved is much appreciated!

My load order:
TMO w/TW 2.5
TMO w/TW stock submarine marker
New Narwhal mod
New Narwhal TMO 2.5 patch
New Narwhal graphics patch

On a side note, playing the game stock with only the New Narwhal mod results in missing conning tower as well.

You are overwriting the "New Narwhal TMO 2.5 patch" with the "New Narwhal graphics patch". Remove that last mod, empty the Save folder, and try again.

If doing the Stock game, that's when you use the "New Narwhal graphics patch".

Thank you for the reply friend! Unfortunately I followed your procedure and it did not work.

I have also attempted to disable all mods and enable only "NewNarwhal", which sadly also did not work. The Narwhal in game would still be missing her conning tower.

I wonder if the mod itself is problematic and missing certain files?

yes, there is a problem with the conning tower.
i had to fix that to be able to play the Narwhal.
unfortunately, i am out of town on an extended assignment and not at my home PC where the fix resides.
let me see if i can remote-in and get my fix.

well, my TMO config did not make the transfer from the tower to my laptop so i do not have it here AND i forgot to turn on my remote-server-app, so i cannot remote-in to my tower at home. #moron

and, no, it is not obvious. (lol)

tell you what: let me find a couple of hours either today or tomorrow (saturday) and i will build a TMO config, load the Narwhal mod and redo the fix. will that work for you?

ok...i loaded up TMO and it ran fine. i am shocked because i remember a problem that i had to mod around. here is my config.

i do not have the other two mods you are using so i would suggest that you try the config i used above and then add each of the additional mods, one at a time, testing at each interval. your problem could be related to one of them.

May I ask which version of SH4 are you working with friend? I've got the Steam SH4 with u-boat missions addon. Getting a disc isn't an option for me because I didn't incorporate a CD-ROM in my PC build.

yeah, i am running on the same version as you but loaded from the DVD.
that could be another reason for the difference...it shouldn't...but it could.

Somehow, disabling all mods and leaving only NewNarwhal enabled is the only way for the mod to function correctly for me for now. Perhaps, I will try and see whether the regular Trigger Maru mod will work with this, since I've been using the Training Wheel Trigger Maru

i found the Umark mod and added it to the mix.
wTw ran fine with it so the problem-mod is the DC mod.
i could not find that. can you send me the link to the mod?

In a stroke of luck, I tried making my game “large address aware”, and it resolved the issue.

I have no idea about how large address awareness is tied to the NewNarwhal missing her conning tower, but it is what fixed the issue in my case.

I hope this solution proves useful to anyone else facing the same problem.
