Default Gaming PC Upgrade Time

Re Gaming PC Upgrade Time

I was thinking of upgrading my 4/5 year old 8th gen intel 1151 socket 7700k with a new motherboard with four ram slots replacing the 1650 4gig gpu with a new gpu bigger power supply a ssd when i enquired at my local computer shop they advised it would be better to get a new complete rig and they offered me £400 trade-in so i told the computer guy my budget so he sourced all the parts except a nvidia 3080 Gpu but last thursday i got a phone call telling me he had a taichi 6800 i said yes please
full PC spec below im off to collect it tomorrow.

XPG Battlecruiser rgb gaming case
Ryzen 7 3800x
32gb 3200mhz ddr4 CL-15 memory
ASRock B550 Steel legend Full ATX PCI-e 4.0 Motherboard
16gb Taichi rx6800xt OC gpu
1TB Nvme drive 4400mbps read 4000mbps write
2TB Hard Drive
be-quiet 80+ gold rated 700w fully modular psu

£2000 - £400 trade-in on old rig

my thinking is that its a too good a offer to turn down because once Gpus are more readily available the trade-in price will drop.
Once its all setup ill post some screenies

I got GWX working but LSH2020 with its 1366 x 768 res keeps telling me cant initialise 3D engine
even when i change resolution in AMD adrenalin software

ill keep trying once we get a 1920 x 1080 Gui for LSH2020 will be man your boats.

Clean machine inside. Nice install of the parts and wires. Enjoy!

Yeah, wait... What? They do trade-ins in the UK? Is that common there?

Here in the US, it seems most people who buy new toss their old one if dead or stick it in a closet if still working.

Re Trade ins the computer shop i got my rig from is only a small family run business and they to trade ins or will take your old pc's laptops ect wipe them of data and donate them to local charities youth groups even children doing school work at home under lockdown they sell second hand tech too.
Big Pc Tech companys in Limeyville dont do trade ins they may take your old hardware for a fee.

Before i got them to build my new rig i did some spade work on what price that pc spec was at other vendors £2050-£2200 and there just 10-15 mins up the road from me in Shildon.

Looks impressive, so there is a reactor in a water-filled pool to power it

I am also looking for a new PC, looking for an Intel processor though. Is there a certain one you would recommend? I guess i7 or i8 is the way to go to not make it too expensive? Clock rate is vital for some sims that only use one core.
