Maybe now STEED has got a job, this won't get filled up with endless reports on what he's having for his dinner.

Me, I'm starting work on a painting of a red rooster today.

Despite the fact my boy keeps in regular contact via email, text and phone we are going to give Face Time a try today so his mom can see what his apartment in Venice looks like

Welcome to the 21st century.

Can you imagine what it would've been like if we had of had what you call Face Time or Facebook during WWII?

Everyone could've told Hitler what they really think

Just back from work, packing my bags for Iceland.

Off to see the good lady and very pleased indeed.

Sanding my Kukri (some rust patches formed), eating chips and watching Deliverance (1972).

NO No! leave the rust!(ie: that old patina) getting beheaded by a rusty kukri is a fearsome concept...implying you've done it before. As for Deliverance....I'll never canoe in South Carolina again! http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=2292

This Kukri has some protection spells on it and any degradation on the knife via rust also means a degradation of the spells.

And Deliverance... the movie is underwhelming.
Online reviews, plot summaries, everywhere I got an idea it's going to be a triller about 4 cityslickers being hunted by a hillbilly klan after killing one of their own. It started good, the omnious reactions of the locals when told they were going to cayak down the river, the tension was built before anyone even started down the river, but in the end I got 3 scenes and a 30minute documentary about rapids.

This being a naval forum, your pardon sire, one simply does not Kayak in a canoe! The production was rougher than the film:
Quote:
During the filming of the canoe scene, author James Dickey showed up inebriated and got into a bitter argument with producer-director John Boorman, who had rewritten Dickey's script. They had a brief fistfight in which Boorman's nose was broken and four of his teeth shattered. Dickey was thrown off the set, but no charges were filed against him. The two reconciled and became good friends, and Boorman gave Dickey a cameo role as the sheriff at the end of the film.
http://www.paddleplanner.com/tools/maps/bwcaqueticomap.aspx bring enough insect-repellant for three weeks. You'll never think kayak again. I made sure ten-year-olds survived the trips in 1966-69! You'll need the kukri to hack out occasional 5 mile portage trails....

Mea culpa, I make things larger than 33 feet and even those I'm looking to get out of the guild, for more earthly proffesions.

Off out for a meal with the wife tonight whilst the daughter and her fiance are away for a few days to a spa in York.

Shouldn't be overly costly just for the two of us, hangers-on being away and all that
