Looking at his picture, and what shows in the ME, he's got dirt & trees where there should be water, where that Merchant is, if that's Pearl Harbor and there hasn't been extensive re-channeling done...

Perhaps its a tree hugger!!!

I have now started the game 10 times, it seem to be a random spawn. If i exit Pearl straight away the Big Old Tanker is happily sailing and bouncing off the docks.

However if I decide to go around the harbour in a full circle I have found him sat in the corn fields on 3 occasions when i enter the main channel.

Icon1 File Structure Issues


There is a
M35Hansa.dat file inside the Data / Sea directory.

It’s a duplicate of the original .dat file already in the correct file structure of Data / Sea / M35Hansa directory.

This file could be deleted with no in game errors

There is also a BBlowa.cfg file in the main Data / Roster / American directory.

It’s a duplicate of the original cfg file already in the correct file structure of Data / Sea / Roster / American / Sea Directory.

This file could be deleted with no in game errors

There is also a PCTrawler.cfg file in the main Data / Roster / Russian directory.

However, this file is missing from the Data / Sea / Roster / Russian / Sea Directory.

This file should be moved to the Data / Sea / Roster / Russian / Sea directory to add the tug to the Russian Roster.

So some "housekeeping" is still in order...

On a lark, I was able to do this (does NOT run in the game):


but it sounds like yours is more of an overwrite thingie in the video display, either in the game, or on your computer. Does it do it everytime you go around the harbor? Does it look like the ship moves, or the water moves?


Edit: I did get it to run... but the ships, since they apparently have "crashed" (they have, after all, come in contact with land), and are burning and exploding as the mission starts... this might explain why a person can't put an airplane on the ground close to shore, in order to do some stationary target practice with small things...

the Big Old Tanker is in a static state - with smoke rising from the funnels.
in 15 attempts now I have only encountered it 3 times - perhaps it is a video glitch, but I could lock onto it via the attack periscope!!! next time I will try to torpedo it, or use deck guns - but I'm scared of that bloody big BB sat next to me. lol.

To answer your question from this morning. Yes, I do have the Jack Rabbit mod installed.

On another front, you never answered about the Japanese Maru optional mod, whether you wanted class added on to the end of the Maru names.

Sorry. Let's make it a JSGME plugin and yes, let's make it xxxx Maru Class, not assuming that the ship is THE namesake of the class.

So you think the jackrabbit mod makes shooting DDs more realistic? If so it goes into the core mod!

Oh, what a shame! That was absolutely the coolest anomaly I've ever seen, even having what appeared to be waves on the top of the ground there!

I do know that if you start outside of a harbor with your boat, and then use the free camera to go back for a look-see at things, that the entire scene is not rendered. You'll "see" the horizon, and then sometimes nothing besides. For example, I started outside San Francisco bay the other day, and thought it'd be cool to go back and see the Golden Gate Bridge, so I "flew" that-a-way with the free camera. I could see the hills north of the bay, and headed towards them. They looked fine. As I started by the "point" of land coming up on the harbor, I could "see behind" the hill. A graphic trick, in that you only render what's needed in the game... So all I could see was the inside of the hill, no terrain on the backside, and water, once I got past the point... Never did see the bridge... but it was expected, probably being beyond the 20km line in the game. Your issue is NOT expected.

What all mods do you have installed? We should have an "approved" list on the download site...
