I hope you enjoy being a member here. One question: we have been trying to reduce the number of spambots that post ads for real estate, male enhancement products, furniture, and other crap So, we have the two questions in the registration process. To better assist us, could you fill out the following survey.

Hi new members, we really appreciate the feedback. We are really sorry we have to make you work hard to join the forum--we want you here, but the steps to keep out spam are necessary.

Yes, I know, having to answer questions is a big pain in the butt, I feel the same way when I register at forums. But the reality is, without this barrier, a forum as popular as Subsim would be slammed with hundreds of spam accounts daily.

As it is now, with the Q&A, we still get 2~5 spam accounts that make it through. We have a dedicated team of spam killers who zap them before they can post their spam.

I think the registering process was very entertaining. It was nice to encounter a different approach to registration. The answers were easily found and I wouldn't mind answering even a couple more.

Considering it was meant to prevent ads for male enhancement products, I say its a very effective and fun way to do it.
