Now THAT's a Narwhal
Oh man, I have waited so long to see this in SH4 ... and now I will have the full summer holidays to play V-Boat careers EDIT: Forgot to add: As you can see, this unit received an aditional external torpedo tube at each side, which are visible right below the deck, and way above the normal 2 ones. (Can also be seen in the pic in my signature) AFAIK those tubes are not reloadable -only at base-. When surfaced it seems also that the torpedoes will "fall" to teh sea as if shot from an S-Boat.

Thank you for the support, XTBilly, but, there are a few kinks we gotta hammer out of the bodywork.
we could almost say its done now, with a really creative dazzle scheme but I got a wild idea, I can Do up pre/during war textures, which can be accessories for the mod, heck, I can even include the V-Numbers! you know, when you start a campaign, after you find out what boat you get, save and exit, load up that boats tower number (until the beginning of the war, then you will have to paint them over), restart the game and voila! personalised V-Boat!

That's a very good idea you have Sledgehammer427.
I suppose you & Keltos will built two versions. The original, (26 Mk10's) & the commando/supply conversion (16 Mk10's). It would be an excellent option if the player had the choice to select the installation of one of the two models. Have you thought a solution that will allow the player to control both 6' guns? (I die to see the dazzle sheme!!) |

The thing is, the model showcased so far is more the Argonaut and not the Narwhal/Nautilus. These last two boats had a different gun platform, which did not extend and make a rounded shape over the hull. There is also a more noticeable "bounce" along the hull, in the centre of it, which I don't see in the real subs It could also benefit from a bit more smootihing of some edges, maybe by adding some more polygons?
Please take this just as constructive critizism, I like the model so far very much.

We'll take yours as the most constructive criticism, Hitman, you sure know your stuff about V boats!
I'll mess around with it in my modeling program. I'm sure I can find a happy medium.
