hmm i seem to have noticed this thread a year too late ... im not aware of any ww2 subsim that includes the IJN subs as PLAYER.
want to lurk off Pearl with a squad of midget subs ? dream up a "what if " west coast version of paukenschlag ? wade about the shallows in an RO ? in winter /spring 2002 i noticed all the IJN databse weps and systems are already in sh2 , as if it was supposed to be expandable to begin with , it just needed units and models... I edited many of the IJN subs found in DC so that they are usable in sh2. i had to kinda wing it and make minor changes to some udf's to correct crashes as i have no hex editing ability to correct the source of the issue. bridge placement can be a bit wacky too if you dont have pac aces select all dc models (the entire contents but NOT the folder itself) and paste them to sh2 models - answer NO TO ALL overwrites. then select all dc units and paste them to sh2 units - answer NO TO ALL overwrites. then add the altsub2 udf's to sh2 units the pac aces mod does this dc to sh2 merge for you so if you have Pacific aces just add the altsub2 udf's to sh2 units. the default udf's for the ijn midgets worked fine so didnt edit or rename them , so just use either of the default NSSMIDGET subs http://members.aol.com/palindromeria...es/Altsub2.zip * oh yeah ! almost forgot - if you add the edited IJN sub udfs to the german sh2 database you can use them in career mode ... |
