Question Any "Anachronistic" type mods/maps (i.e. 688 vs WWII platforms) out there?

I've been looking and had not found any, but I was just wondering if anyone had made a mod/scenario that allows you to pit modern day subs versus WWII ships and subs? Either for DW, SubCommand or 688i?

I can see how it would be a turkey shoot with today's advanced sonar and quiet engines, but if the odds were stacked against you via sheer numbers it could be interesting. Anyone heard of something like that? If not, is anyone interested in making one?

Thanks!

All the best,
Tim

The old boats never had fish that would go as deep as an L.A or Virginia class could go. I still doubt the validity of Nukes being quieter than electric motors on the old boats. Sure the listening devices are more advanced so one might hear the the boat itself making noise but I still doubt a nuke could hear the motors at 1/3 ahead at 600 feet. Since the newer boats have fish that have active as well as passive listening I doubt an old boat could avoid them unless they used the subterrean or bottomed out if it was shallow enough and an active fish was used. The newer boats could also out run the old fish.

While newer boat statistics are 800+ feet and 32 kts submerged the L.A. could go 2000+ and 60 mph on a breech so I am sure the Virginia class is even better.

I have never seen any mods for what your asking.

Still, it would be fun for a "Final Countdown" type of scenario.
