Is there Land Avoidance in DW?
So, is there somekind of land avoidance -system for AI subs/vessels in DW? One Ohio-class boat is behaving strange in harbour area, so now I think if there is kind of "protection" system messing around.

I do think that the A.I. does actually try to avoid hitting the ground, but sometimes they really don't do a good job at it. As from seeing some stories of Akulas that went flank into the rising seafloor, I wouldn't put too much trust in their terrain avoidance capeabilities during a heated battle.

Thanks ASWnuts101!
Somekind of land avoidance system is now only thing I can think could explain Ohios strange behavior. Boat surfaced (36-37 ft), water depth 42-43 ft and what you get? Exact 90 degrees course change and grounding. Annoying in deed but what can you do, exept moving Ohio out of bay and planning the start of your scenario again. But, not that big deal really. I just hope I could get that waypoint problem solved - there's another thread about it. Greetings, -RC- |
