Default "Separate gun textures" mod

This was initially only for testing purposes but I decided to release it as a mod because it may be of interest for skin makers.

Now, most of the guns on capital ships in SH3 get their own texture plates. Things like f.e. gun turrets with red or yellow top on Bismarck and on German cruisers become possible to do without introducing any interference with other vessels.

The mod includes a modified guns.dat file and is installed by copying it to the data\Library folder. New texture plates included in guns.dat are listed below along with the corresponding gun names used in EQP files of the capital ships.

Hello Sergbuto (eller kanske hej)
Downloaded your mod. Looked them through. but couldnt see any yellow turret for i.e Bismarck. I guess you menaged it like a example what you CAN do?

Will for sure try try your mod!

Another question, I installed your Southhampton cruiser for some time ago, and after installing I couldn't open mission editor! Removed the mod and all was fine again. Put it back again just to see if it was something temporarily, but same thing occured. :hmm: Strange to me, but do you have any idea what was wrong?

ps. Nice with a fellow countryman her on the forum

Correct. You need to edit the corresponding texture in the guns.dat file for that.

Sorry. I can't figure out what can be wrong because it works for me, at least, when I start the editor by clicking on the EXE file itself.

There are two versions out there. I'm not sure what the difference is, but one requires the float planes mod. I don't have the float planes mod, so I installed the cruiser which didn't require the float planes. Maybe you have a wrong version?

I know I'd like the float planes, but not sure what some of the files do (I think in the sea folder or something). I'm using airpower mod, and I think that had the same files. I don't want to mess something up.

nice it might be the answer I've been looking for to have seperate gun tga's. I'll take a look at it and if it works a very huge thanks man.

I guess you loaded the CFG file version requiring Float planes mod to be installed. You can get alternative CFG file on my site or install the Float planes mod. This issue has also been discussed in Southamton-dedicated thread
