Default Found S-Class! and it was sunk..

I was returning from patrol to Lorient. Jun 1942.

It was aprox midnight and my lookout reported a warship. I went to the bridge and had a look. Coulnt make out anything. WO reported it was 8kms away. Didnt sound like a destroyer. I decided to investigate.

I eventually got closer to about 3kms and lo and behold; and enemy submarine on the surface. Unfortunately I only had an acoustic torp left in the stern tube, so I mauvered into a position to fire. I hit him in the ass.

I felt truly sorry for those boys as they sank about 150kms sw of Lorient.

Unfortunately i have the new resolution and dont know how to take a screen shot. I had saved about 2 days out of Lorient so I might be able to go back and take shots.

Anyone know how to take screen shots with the upgraded resolution?

Yeah. if you go to the community manual it explains how you can change the resolution to 1280X1024.. i think thats it.

Anyways, the manual does say just press "print screen" with the new resolution.

http://www.communitymanuals.com/shii...itle=Main_Page

Look at this link and check under "display resolution"

I managed to get a screenshot of the s-class when i must have hit print screen to try it out. I will post in a few min.

My first try at posting a hosted image. A night enhanced image of the S-Class.

low resolution: converted from 1280x1024.

OK.. I went back to the previous save and searched for the S-Class. I finally found him and took a shot with an acoustic - my last torp.

And a hit!

I just had a run in with an S-class too. Ugly looking sucker that's for sure! (The design, not the model or texture). Its hydrophones obviously work on the surface as he heard me racing towards him submerged and then I discovered he has active sonar (it was Dec 1940)!

I think I'll be giving them a miss in the future though. I only get six torpedoes in my Type IID and this bad boy needed two fish to sink. Definitely not worth it for only 800 tons.

If you were using SH3 Commander all those ships you sank would have names.

Cool that you found an enemy submarine.

They do. I copied and pasted the patrol report from SH3 Commander. For some reason it lost the formatting. Note the Black Swan I ambushed and sank, HMS Peacock. For some strange reason she crusied directly towards me in flat-calm waters at 2 bells of the afternoon watch(hehe 1300hrs) doing 12 knots. I was at silent running and fired an electric at 2400m. Boom.
